Well, I had to leave nursing for the past five years due to a right shoulder injury, but I am looking to return to nursing within the next year after taking a RN refresher course.

During my five year 'sabbatical' from nursing, I have written almost two books that I hope to publish one day, worked a few non-nursing jobs along the way, and spent a lot of time in sports medicine and physical therapy trying to improve the strength of my right arm.

If for some reason I cannot return to nursing, I will return to college for a career change...possibly in counseling. I miss nursing, so I hope I will be able to make a big comeback into the nursing field, that way I can return to college to advance my degree in an area that interest me, such as community education.

I've had many jobs in many different areas and nursing has been the best for me by far! Still...after all I've been through, nursing still rocks in my book! ;)

I would like to open a neighborhood bar somewhere close to a medical center, calling it something weird like "the Breakroom" or "the After work place" or maybe "the Waiting Room" and cater to the medical profession..The location would work for so many good reasons..No I do not have the money to do this so no I would not prepared. But it would be really nice and be specifically geared for medical professionals.....I would love this even if I didn't make money......Oh to dream....

I have been off from nursing for about 1 1/2 yrs. d/t 2 shoulder surgeries..am limited with lifting and arm movement. I loved nursing when I first entered the profession..I remember feeling guilty for getting a paycheck....that soon passed! I still miss it so much and will always think of myself as a nurse. I'm currently taking Reiki classes and am into digital photography, editing, enhancing, etc. would like to start a business of some sorts...still learning...but have hundreds of pretty good pictures lying around...using some to make my own cards. Take photos of folks homes and enhance/manipulate them...a backyard can look enchanting...it is very satisfying and keeps me busy. Would like to write someday also...although the old english skills seem to go after a few years of nursing...matter of fact....lots of things seem to go?? So....when I grow up..I'd like to be a photographer. I'm 52...better get busy!

I too would like to work with animals. But I would love working in a greenhouse or being a professional gardener. Helping people transform their property into beautifuls lush gardens.

I love diggin in the dirt!!!

OOH, something that fills the soul and brings the joy nursing once did. Maybe documentaries on midlife nurses making career changes???

I would oper up a neighborhood tavern. Much like the one in Cheers. karoke on wednesdays and Ladies night every night. Ya'll come and I'll pour.

If I left nursing, I would write. I love to write. Probably for children. But perhaps some Adult CHRISTIAN romance stories too. They would be faith-based stories written in a Christ-Like manner. My children's books would also be Christian based. I have an idea running around in my head now. So watch for my best seller in book stores near YOU!!

I left 3 months ago to be a stay-at-home mom. Never been happier. I am studying nutrition in my "spare time" and someday might go for an advanced degree in that field. In the mean time, I'll keep my license active as long as I can to fall back on, but I have no desire to return to the stress while the kids are little.

Curious if you are studying nutrition thru an on-line course of other?? Is it a certificate program or do you get a degree?

I have been looking as I have a virtual franchise with a company that produces an awesome wholefood supplement and the more I learn the more I desire to learn. This is the best job I have ever had and want to be an expert in the area. Hence a degree in nutrition is what I am looking for.

Thanks.
