If tomorrow you had to leave nursing what career would you got to?And do you think your prepared for it and do you think you would be happy doing it?

the only job that could really get me away from my ED would be stay at home mom!!! i'm serious........or, maybe, if money wasn't an option, go back to radio. that was good times.....another lifetime ago.

Specializes in Med-Surg, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiac.

I'm stumped. I really don't know. Like another said, maybe I'm just born this way and doing what I should be doing.

Specializes in Obstetrics, M/S, Psych.

I want to be a dog groomer with a fully, equipped doggy salon on my property. I'd be open 9 am to 1 pm Monday through Friday or by special appointment. No early mornings or nights. No weekends, no holidays. Heaven.

Let's see, if my hubby wins the lottery, I'd quit and probly stop working altogether. I take that back, I'd be a professional traveler.

Otherwise, I could become a professional student, go back to hairstyling (yes, I have a cosmetology license), or be a veterinary nurse! (just kidding about the vet nurse)

Anne:D

Couldn't leave nursing, I,m doing what I want to do!! However, if ther was a gun put to my head......... I would love to have a catering business. I love to cook!! I cook and bake now every chance I get. Or maybe have a craft shop. I would also sell antiques there. Have you noticed how many of us, if we weren't nurses want to care for animals? There is no escape!! We just want to make it all better!

I'd be a crazy cat lady, a microbiologist, a world traveler--but then I don't know what I'd do with my cats.

Specializes in MS Home Health.

I am in sales and I love it.......

Hoolahan, can't you tell them you want to be a medical librarian?

Catlady, I am totally with you! If I was told that I absolutely positively could not become a nurse, I would open up a petstore, just for cats with a vet on site. I would also never turn away a cat and try to find it a good home.

Kris:)

Specializes in ER.

I would be a commercial pilot.

Hell no, I would not be prepared for it, but then again, I was hardly prepared for a nursing career when I graduated 16 years ago, and that worked out great!!

I would be an artist. I loved the art classes I took in college, especially the ceramics and drawing. I'd love to make jewelry too.

My second choice would be doing something with dogs... I don't think I'd want to be a vet but would love to train dogs for being therapy dogs, rescue dogs, K9 Corps dogs, etc. Do you think I love dogs? LOL

I like this thread. I also like the fact that it's made me actually think I could spend some time working with art and dogs as a hobby. Thank God for hobbies!!!

Disc jockey baby!!!! Loooove listening and playing great tunes and actually getting PAID FOR IT!!!!:chuckle Warrior Woman.
