:redbeatheOkay MCC hopefuls, we are under the 45 day mark. Hopefully within 30 days we will at least have our ranking!!:redbeathe

42 days until letter day.....how are you feeling?

I am hoping to get into MCC program this fall too. The sooner the better for me. I still need to get in my microbiology, I will try to do that this summer. What is everyone doing to keep from going crazy while waiting for the "letter"?

Currently I am in A&P at MCC so that is keeping me REALLY busy! So that is a good thing...sort of!

I am in A & P at Baker, because I couldn't get into MCC. You're right it keeps me busy, which is helpful. I only have one more week, my final is Thurs.

I would like the October start date so that I can finish up the pre-reqs that are required to complete the BSN at Oakland. I want to take a few online classes so they will be done by the time I start the Nursing program. But...August, January, and March will be alright too. I just want to get in!

Keep in mind, if you start in October then you are 8 weeks behind an normal school year. So, after your second year you have to wait the entire summer just to go back and finish 8 weeks of class. Not ideal at all. I started in October thinking it was great, and now I am kicking myself for that choice. Some people may not care but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

I have 2 finals this week, so I will leave the worrying until then...lol. I start classes again on 4-6 so I guess this was a great time to get a letter since I am so busy. I have already set myself up for failure so it will not be so bad when I do not get in.

sorry duplicate post

I would like to get my BSN also when I get in (I'm staying Positive). That is a fantastic idea of trying to get some of the BSN requirements done now.

LOL... what I am doing to keep from going crazy is not working! :chuckle I take a lot of cold showers, bang my head on walls until I pass out...LOL. I'm joking! ;) This is pure torture to me, my panic attacks are in high gear. However, posting to this site and previously reading everything on here has been very benficial. I've only been posting for a day, but already I feel better. Everyone so far has been really awesome and I feel good getting my feelings out. Plus, were all in the same boat as each other. You know your not alone in how you feel, and you can discuss with people too that have been there, done that. Yes, stress is bad because probably like most everyone... this is make or break me time. I cannot afford to wait because of my job/financial situation. That just adds to the already pressure... But, in all honesty, my faith is carrying me through all this. I have to believe I'm in this situation for a reason... and I'm choosing to be optimistic, even though I hear all the stories.

Best of Luck to you!!!!

I'm in A & P right now too at MCC. I have class on Tues/Thurs. from 6-10pm. Did you already have your unit 2 tests? We get to take ours when we get back from spring break. Talk about Busy! I couldn't agree more. I have been telling everyone that this class is more work, than when I went back to school last semester for 12 credit hours and worked full time. LOL. Actually, I am supposed to be studying right now...ooops!

Syzman, thanks for the advice. So you're in the program now? Do you think it would be too hectic to take other classes on top of the nursing classes? I've always had a full load and actually enjoy the stress of trying to get everything done, but I don't want to overload myself while in the program. It would suck to have to wait all summer just to finish the program. Do they still have the accelerated program that has classes in the summer too? I don't think I would mind that program just to get it done as quickly as possible.

As for what I'm doing to keep from going crazy, Microbiology. Although that class has me going crazy anyways :)

lovemyhuskies-

They do not have the accelerated program right now. I sure wish they did. We have way too many breaks right now. There's an entire month off over christmas and then full summers off...it seems like a waste of time. I'm getting old already!

I have been taking extra classes with the nursing classes and have had no problem at all. We just stared a new set and I don't have any extra classes this eight weeks, and I feel like I am going to be very bored. It is hard to fit in most normal classes with weird clinical schedules, but sometimes you get lucky. The online ones work well. If you are used to a full schedule I say go for it.

We have our Unit 2 test right after Spring Break also! I am in the 8am Tues/Thurs class. I will be studying my butt off this week!

Someone mentioned something about the average HESI score for this year:

There was a thread on here a few months ago where everyone on this site who took the HESI for fall 09 posted their "class" average.

One of the posters began to work on the math, and it appeared as though the HESI average was around the low 80's.

Unfortunately that doesn't mean anything though :( The lowest HESI that was accepted last year was something like 92. That wipes a lot of us out!

Hey guys,

I just checked my posts from last year, and it bums me out to say that I did not get my letter until April 19th. I do think that the up side is that you know how many people took the HESI and so you kind of know your competition. Also, you now know that the first letter that you will get (in the yellow envelope) is the verifying GPA/HESI letter. That should be coming anytime.

They say that patience is a virtue. "They" say lots of stuff, don't "they"?

Take care, Hoot
