:redbeatheOkay MCC hopefuls, we are under the 45 day mark. Hopefully within 30 days we will at least have our ranking!!:redbeathe
42 days until letter day.....how are you feeling?
27 days...........
I am close to the 156-160 spot so maybe I will get an alternate spot. I have had a couple of weeks of just being disappointed in general. I wish they would send out the letters with what GPA/score they are using instead of having to guess. My HESI score is different depending on where you look and it makes me nervous.
Hey guys! Since I got that rejection letter from Baker, I haven't even thought of school! LOL
I've been roller skating to keep me busy! I want to try out for roller derby!
Anyone facebook??
Tick tock, tick tock....now that I started thinking about it... time has slowed WAY down!
I start my nutrition class and my pilates class at MCC next week. :) I wish they would just get here already!!
What's your secret for slowing down time? I feel like everything is speeding by so fast! I can't believe this break is almost over, feels like it just started. I was looking at my calendar today and realized that every day in March had something to do written on it. Between soccer games, practices, exams, vet appointments, doctor appointments, registration for nursery school and my summer classes....whew --EXHAUSTING!!! I consider it prep for nursing school. I need to be ready to have a full load! Letter???? Where are you????!!!!
I just finished my semester yesterday! Peace out, Baker! Only problem is I don't know what I'm going to do with myself the next few weeks
Thanks, MichyMich, for all the great info! I hope those extra spots they added this year will help so we all can make it in this year! I hate how you have to wait an entire year before you are able to apply again! As though none of us have anything better to do with our time than sitting around taking entrance exams every year. Blah!!
I know the letter needs to hurry up!! Do you think the send out the accepted and non-accepted at the same time or at different times?
Side story.....I was watching an old episode of Peoples Court. This guy was suing a lady for $238 for a children's party character that she had wanted to show at her daughters birthday party. She said she canceled he said she didn't. The judge said something about did she not have the money and that is why she canceled, and the lady was like I make $250 an hour (she said this many times during the case) so it was not about the money. Well she lost.
On they way out the reporter guy asked her what she did for a living that she made $250 an hour, her reply............I AM A NURSE.
I don't know what type of nurse she was but sign me up, no wonder there is so much competition to get into classes.....lol.
Ugh, lucky girl!! I have 1 more required class.....well that is if I pass my Patho and Pharm class, I am really worried. When are the grades due on Solar System by, I swear I am turning into such a stalker...lol.

- My grade for Comp II is up, by my anatomy II one isn't. My teacher seemed really incompetent, so I'm not surprised.
- I think MCC sends out acceptance/denial letters at the same time (Baker did for fall '09, at least.)
- Related to your funny story, I'm watching Law and Order, and the medical examiner said that this lady had an "oophorectomy." Jerry Orbach's character asked, "she had her "oofers" removed?" :chuckle
I'm trying to quote prior messages, and it's just not letting me *humph*
Gemberly, I facebook! LOL. I really like it because I am kept up to date with my friends. I have a myspace account too... but that was for "work" purposes. I used to work part time with an event planning/coordination company and most of the people on there are from meeting them at our different events we put on. Facebook, does help pass the time, but doesn't help with me being productive. LOL!!! :typing
Shannonmarie... Do tell when you might come across what type of nurse that worman on the People's Court was! :chuckle Holy moley, I didn't know it was THAT much!
I have an A&P test Tuesday. That spring break did fly by!!! But, now I am kinda wishing we had the test before we left for the break. I spent the break studying... to the point where I just have to push myself to open the book. I'm so done with these chapters already, can't wait for something new and exciting!!!!
I was hoping too...that maybe this week we would get our "confirmation of GPA/HESI" letters! Let's all focus on that, and maybe the subliminal messages will get out and make it happen? I'm at the end of the alphabet... and I seem to always be behind in their mailings... grr... LOL.

I don't know either, but I will share what information I have that I got from the school and a sleuthy lab partner.
First, I don't have any concrete evidence for 2008. But the brochure my lab partner found in the Learning center, the #121 spot for 2007, that person had a 92 HESI and 3.9143 GPA. That is not an average, but an actual. Keep in mind it was in 2007.
Now, when I went to the Nursing Seminar for 2009, I got information. However, this is going to be an average of what the last (5) ppl had to get into the program. (Spots #116-120) for 2008 was a 94.2 HESI and a 3.68 GPA in 2008 (In 2007 it was 94 HESI and 3.75GPA average, a little more competitive than 2008). The counselor also gave us info on what the last 5 ppl (had there been 160 ppl. accepted in 2008 were). Their average (Spot #156-160) HESI was 91.6 and average GPA was 3.79 .
One has to be careful with averages. They do give you some useful data, but you have to know that though it says 94.2 and 3.68 GPA, someone might have had a 96 HESI and 3.5 GPA and someone might have had a 91 HESI and a 3.9 GPA. There were only (5) ppl in that target group, so if you think in terms of standard deviations (LOL, my Dad influencing me here), that is a pretty tight range.
But on a good note, check out the averages of what the last 5 ppl accepted were had their been 160 ppl accepted. The average goes down! Yeah!
And what this all boils down to... we need to see what this applicant pool for 2009 is. We don't know for sure.
TOXICSHOCK... I so want to be in that little hammock by the ocean like you pic! Really cute. :redbeathe
