42 days until letter day.....how are you feeling?
Hi!
Unfortunately I did not get in. I'm #220 , I am an alternate, so that's what... 68 out. heheheh
I feel as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. As much as I have a passion for helping people and anyone that knows me knows I do, I'm kinda relieved and now know where I belong. Last year I was accepted into the PTA program and turned it down. I needed more time to figure out my place and where I best belong and give my kids one more year with mom. This year, I'm jumping at it! I don't feel as devastated as some may, because I wasn't absolutely positive that RN was what I wanted and maybe, just maybe, subconsciously I sabotaged myself on the HESI. If I can pull an A in A&P there's nothing I can't do
I truly appreciate the love and support I've received from my online buddies, close friends, family, and college buds. This has certainly been an exciting ride, one that brings me to a better understanding of myself and I've met some fantastic people....you know who you are :heartbeat
If I get called up (just incase there are 60% felons out there;)) I'd be happy to step up and answer my calling. For now I will pursue my original passion and that is with movement and strength. I will try to pop in and see how you are all doing, but I have a feeling once you guys start, you won't be visiting too often either.
I truly wish every one of you the very VERY best in your programs study hard hard hard! I hope you have found your passion and have a wonderful journey through the RN program.
God bless,
Barb
Congrats everyone!!! I was sick today and sleeping when the mailman came. My son came home from school and brought the mail in. He said, "mom there's a letter from your school". I was so excited, it was the first time I was out of bed all day! I got in!!!! I can't wait to meet you all on the 20th.
Hi everyone,
It has been awhile since I have posted . Just wanted to congratulate everyone who got into Macomb and to those who did not, do not give up.:yeah:I am currently in week 3, almost 4 of fundamentals at Baker's program. It has been a great experience thus far and a lot of work. Say goodbye to housework because you will be studying all of the time. Again, congratulations and good luck!!
For those of you interesting in finding your ranking....
I went to G Bldg, to the Admissions counter and asked if they could tell me my ranking. I showed them my letters of admission and they said, sure, we can do that!
I found out that my 4.0 GPA / 92.31 HESI was ranked at a tie for 65th spot. I also found out my ranking for PTA and OTA an will share what those scores were and ranking for the 2010 hopefuls. Just ask...
I'm so excited to meet you all at orientation. I do want to say that sharing this journey with you all has been enormously positive and helpful! I'll keep on here. We have many more things to weather together.
I was also able to find out my rank yesterday after I recieved my letter! Does anyone know how the ranking works? Do ranks 1-30 or 40 start in August and so on, or is there more that is taken into consideration?
They go in accordance to ranking and if you have your prereqs finished. They say at orientation that if you are currently in the middle of a prereq class that they will assume you are going to pass them. They also assume that everyone wants to start ASAP. You can tell them at orientation if you want to start at a later point for any reason. At least that's how it went last year.
Congrats.
I honestly will be done with everything (except a Comparative Religions Class and the Nursing classes) by August. So, other than that... I'm ready to go. I would like an August start date, but my ranking tells me probably Oct or Jan (the latest). I'm laid off, so I'm wanting to "bring it on!". I'm just happy to start when I can!
With all that stress gone, I don't know what to do with myself! I don't know if I want to search for stethoscopes or go to borders and look up the PDR for fun... LOL LOL LOL. But, I think I'm just going to let this sink in for a moment.
