:redbeatheOkay MCC hopefuls, we are under the 45 day mark. Hopefully within 30 days we will at least have our ranking!!:redbeathe

42 days until letter day.....how are you feeling?

Do you find out your ranking at the same place you pay your deposit?? Or do you have to go to the enrollement desk??? I will share once I find out!

It's right next to the place you pay. I believe the sign says admissions.

It is to the right of the cashier. (If you were facing it.)

I'm seeing that a lot of you tied. Do they really only take 152 people or do they take everyone that has a ranking less than that? If almost everyone tied with someone else, and I'm assuming more than two people tied in some ranks, then there would be more than 152 people accepted this year.

They would still only take 152 people. They only have that many spots available for teachers/clinicals. So if they tie, that is two people down and skew the way the ranking looks. I am guessing that at the end, once they got to 152 people if they tied for the last spot, they would use some other criteria to decide who was in and who wasn't.

Finally got my rank! With a HESI of 94.49 and a GPA of 3.89 I am #41! I hope its good enough for August but I am thinking I will be October! Can't wait until orientation!

I was 23 with a 3.95 and 95 Hesi. I was told over 2500 applicants (not sure if all nursing or total for Selective Admissions) and 731 people were ranked, that is some serious competition for 152 spots! Here's hoping for August!

Does anyone know how many alternates usually make it? I was accepted, but my cousin is #155 on the alternate list. I told her that i think her chances are really good. Congrats to everyone who made it and to those who didn't... don't give up on your dreams.

Hello there. After lurking for awhile I finally registered. Congratulations to all who have been accepted into MCC's program! Willismom - just fyi. I was admitted into MCC's program last year but couldn't make it happen (as in quitting my job!) so I withdrew. Had to reapply for 2009, and thankfully, made the cut again. So, yes, people do have to withdraw for various reasons. As for how many??? Don't know.

Thanks for the info, and congrats on getting in again. Good Luck!

You're welcome and good luck to you, too! Another fyi to all -- ranking scores appear be a little higher or much closer this year as I dropped 20 places in my ranking from last year (in 2008, I ranked in the lows 80s; this year in the low 100s. For 2009, the college used my grades / HESI score from 2008).

And for the curious - my grade point was just shy of 3.86 / HESI 93 (rounded down - it would have helped if I had studied the medical vocabulary. Doh!). So a 4.0 isn't mandatory (but certainly can't hurt)! It all depends on the applicant pool.

And, yes, if it's the same as last year you can request a particular start date (doesn't mean that you will get it). If all goes well and according to plan, I'm shooting for January. :)

I didn't ask what my ranking was, but it I also have a 3.86 gpa and 93 Hesi. So I guess that means I ranked in the low 100 as well.

I will not be able to quit my job but I am hoping I can still somehow make it happen anyway. I will be really upset if I have to withdraw but I work retail which is semiflexible.
