Yep! Quit the job today! Worked half a day, and quit. Won't get into the specifics because I'm suing the hospital, and won't stop there. I'll be on Dr. Phil telling the world about the pains of being a nurse today, and writing every political head that is involved with healthcare making sure they are brought up to date on the pains of nursing as well. I have a strong voice, and I intend to use it for my profession.
Going back to travel nursing, starting with seeking a travel contract in my hometown, then elsewhere. No more BS from those who love to strangle the shick out of nurses today.
Going on vacation for a few days before I get started with the lawsuit. I believe in standing up for what I believe in even if no one else believes what I believe. That is their choice to disagree, and my choice to pursue what I believe to be justice for myself as a professional nurse.
I'm going to make the world hear what is wrong with nursing today if it is the last thing I take on in my life.

Ok, REALLY curious what you are suing for, but I can only imagine having had similiar thoughts myself. For now....just say......you go!

I wish you the best of luck! I have to say Hmmmmmmmmmmm tho because Nurse single entity against Hospital big corporation I guess it could be done but you should be 100% sure there is nothing in your file that that can be damaging. You say here you left after half a day... were your Pts covered did you leave without permission? Are you in any way subject to a charge of abandonment?

I am so glad you quit that job. You've posted so many entries about being unhappy there. If you are serious about a lawsuit, be very careful what you post.

Please let an experienced attorney guide you in this, Renee, although I'm sure you've already thought of this.
Dr. Phil and Oprah, etc, may not want such an explosive expose as you're proposing! Do keep us as informed as you can.
Wishing you peace and contentment in your choices. :) -- D

Dont have a clue what is up with your job thing but if it involves you fighting for nurses I am all for that. Someone sure needs too and I am guessing you would be a good person for the job. Best of luck to you.

good morning all! thanks for your kind words and well wishes! :kiss
ccu nrs...to answer your questions: no, i did not abandon my patients. they were well informed of my resigning, and coverage for my patients was provided. i would never abandon any patient in my care, so that is definitely not an issue with me.
as for what they may have in my file..........none of us who are someone's employee truly knows what is in our file.....we only know what we are shown when asked to see our file, etc, so i would never concern myself with that issue. i'm true to myself, and that's all i am accountable for.
yesterdays woes are yesterdays woes, todays are problems sufficient in and of itself, and tomorrow is not promised to any of us so can't borrow from tomorrow's rain or sunshine.
i'm so at peace for taking a stand about the abuse dealt nurses, and since i've never been an "azz kisser", i'm never sorry for standing up for myself as a nurse. i always stand on what i believe in...always always always! now..........if the rest of the world's nurses would only follow suit, what a powerful force we would be in the beginnings of positive change for the nursing profession.
will i truly sue the place? i prayed about it fervently, and the answer will be revealed to me in my father god's perfect timing.
since i'm a believer in the powers of a one and only true god, god does not like ugly and what goes around comes around to those who think they are more powerful than his hand in any given situation. my faith is my faith, and someone else's is their choice, but as for me.......i will stand on the justice of almighty god.
have a blessed day everyone! :)
