I might fail OB clinical, nervous and kinda suicidal

So I have been having some suicidal thoughts with clinical. I have been informed by my instructor that I received an F for the midterm. I have an 85% in the course. However, when I asked why I was failing she said that I was lacking in sufficient health teaching, but other wise was doing a good job. So I'm lacking in one area, bust my ass in clinical and nothing is shown for it. I have received little positive comment on performance, but when I told a few others in my clinical group about, they said they were shocked and confused. I cannot fail clinical. I don't have money for winter classes.

Compounding the problem is that tomorrow evening is my last night on the unit and I am nervous as hell. Its driving me crazy and is making me depressed 24/7, and I can't sleep well.

I don't know what to do. I'm scared, like a lot. My mom threatened to cut me off financially and socially, and without her I cannot afford school period. I'm really scared and upset. I'm a man and I don't like OB so that makes it worse I suppose.

(212) 673-3000 This is a 24 hr crisis hotline and here is the website: 24-Hour Crisis Hotline - The Samaritans

It must be scary and frustrating to feel so unsupported. If it's any consolation, there are many of us that have had those horrible feelings in the past- and they will eventually end. Please give us an update, when you can!

So I have been having some suicidal thoughts with clinical.

Please call 1-800-SUICIDE; the hotline is staffed with caring operators 24 hour per day, seven days per week.

Here's a quote for you to remember:

"Suicide doe not end the chances of life getting worse; suicide eliminates the possibility of it ever getting better."

Suicide is not your answer

Nursing is NOTHING to hurt yourself over. Nursing does not show the world your self worth.

GET. HELP.

I had a BSN classmate commit suicide our junior year. The thoughts are REAL but your life is worth more than nursing school.

I hope & pray that you are able to seek out the help you need. I know I'm a stranger to you but I would hold your hand and let you vent for however long it took for you to feel a little better. Even though it's not in person, the hotlines can really help and no one will judge you. So many ppl suffer from this and it takes a great amount of courage to come forth and ask for help, so I commend you. I hope you make the call.

As others have said already....please seek help. Either call the hotline or if you have a friend, family member, spiritual leader, another student, anyone that you can just talk this out. I promise it does get better. No matter what is going on in your life right now....it does get better. Thoughts and good vibes coming your way. Please update us with how you are doing or just to vent/talk. Hugs.
