can some please give me advise on what to do,
I have been in LIU for 1 1/2 years and i just recently failed my second course, due to that they kicked me out. i tried writing to the ARP comittee but they denied my letter. then i made an apt with the dean of the nursing dept, i mean it took me a long time to get that apt with her... when i finally saw her she spent like 4 min on me and told me that these are our rules and we must go by them. you failed two courses so u can either try a different major, or go for lpn. and then maybe come back in a year after you get ur lpn lisence.
but now i just began applying to different nursing schools and no one wants to accept me becasue my gpa went down and at the same time they dont accept nursing credits.
now with all this in my head a had several friends in my old program who passes telling me that there are several students who failed more then one class that are being given chances to continue and take those classes over. one girl in particular who failed two classes in the same term, shich is being given the chance to take them both over again.
is this favoritism or what? i am so furious that some people just get everything smack in the palm of there hands and otheres who try with all their might arent given any chances!! uugh .....
please please help me someone.. i dont wanna sue anyone i just want another chance at the program... what can i say to them to change their mind about me??
I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but please watch your spelling and punctuation and try to improve your written communication skills. if you turned in homework written as poorly as your original post, I don't blame them for failing you! both oral and written communication skills are important in nursing -- take every opportunity to develop them.

I agree that oral and written communication is a vital part of Nursing. It's also vital for nursing school. There's a lot of variables in your explanation. Like others asked, why did you fail two courses, when, and was there enough time to repair your GPA? I'm sorry that this has happened to you but 99.9% of the time we have no one but to blame ourselves.
Is your GPA keeping you from applying to other Nursing programs? Yes, if it is as described. There are so many students "nursing" their GPA to be acceptable for school. Schools are taking these students with priority.
Hello olesya,
I am in a similar situation. I am in a new BSN program in NJ. I currently have a 70.37% in Med-Surg 2. I have to retake the HESI in hopes of saving myself. Honestly, I don't believe I will pass. If I fail, then I will be kicked out of the program. I checked out the Adelphi school you mentioned and was wondering whether it was hard to get in. Unlike you, I didn't have the best grades in nursing. Rather Med-Surg 1 I barely passed and Med-Surg 2 is what I got the 70.37%. For the other nursing classes, I'm an A-B average. I am just worried that if I am dropped I won't be able to get into ANY other program. It's like no other program wants to give you a second chance. What is one to do? I don't want to do LPN because most of their jobs are being cut. Plus many hospitals are denying them clinical access. I am so confused. I feel like it's not the end of the world. However, no other program wants to give you a shot.
Hello BrightLPN,
OMG I am currently a double major (Nursing & Psychology) at my school. I believe I will be dropped from my BSN program after I retake the HESI, which I don't believe I'll pass. I never thought about getting my BSN as a second degree like you did. Was it hard getting into another BSN program? I keep hearing that most nursing programs will not accept you if you've already failed a program. I called this one school and they told me I can try but I most likely won't get it.
My family keeps telling me that if I fail I should forget nursing and just focus on Psychology. I understand where their coming from. I've been doing this school thing for a while and have yet to finish. Apart of me feels that if I fail I should get my masters in Psych. However, I feel that I want to get my BSN. I don't know whether to just take the break, focus on Psych, then come back to nursing.
Option 2. Keep going trying at the BSN and see where that gets me. Hopefully a school will take me on.
OR
Option 3. Just forget about BSN totally. I am so confused

I am in Virginia. I went to George Mason University dismissed in 2004. Then Marymount's second degree program in 2009.
I also have an undergrad degree in psychology I finished at GMU after my first dismissal. I finished my B.S. in psychology in 2008.
I did my LPN program in 2011 after my second dismissal and now have my LPN license.
My end goal is to finish my BSN and then a MSN.
I've been dealing with the whole 'higher learning' process for so long. A lot of people along the journey discouraged me, and told me to do something else. Nope, not happening. I have also met people along my journey who thought I would never sit in for NCLEXs. Well, I did and passed. The practice of nursing has always been a heartfelt ambition. I just can't emphasize this enough to students, if it's in your heart and your dreams you don't give up. Yes, you got to face your demons and figure out what when wrong or what would be different, but it can be done.
I have applied to 5 programs. Both tracks. Marymount included. I will start in spring. I don't stress about the admission process anymore. I have been through worst. I still have many roads ahead of me. However, I believe in myself and work hard. And if anyone doubts me along the way, then I don't have time for them. I know that the success will happen when it's meant too.
