can some please give me advise on what to do,
I have been in LIU for 1 1/2 years and i just recently failed my second course, due to that they kicked me out. i tried writing to the ARP comittee but they denied my letter. then i made an apt with the dean of the nursing dept, i mean it took me a long time to get that apt with her... when i finally saw her she spent like 4 min on me and told me that these are our rules and we must go by them. you failed two courses so u can either try a different major, or go for lpn. and then maybe come back in a year after you get ur lpn lisence.
but now i just began applying to different nursing schools and no one wants to accept me becasue my gpa went down and at the same time they dont accept nursing credits.
now with all this in my head a had several friends in my old program who passes telling me that there are several students who failed more then one class that are being given chances to continue and take those classes over. one girl in particular who failed two classes in the same term, shich is being given the chance to take them both over again.
is this favoritism or what? i am so furious that some people just get everything smack in the palm of there hands and otheres who try with all their might arent given any chances!! uugh .....
please please help me someone.. i dont wanna sue anyone i just want another chance at the program... what can i say to them to change their mind about me??

you or your friends, do not know why these people were allowed to repeat.
unless you have concrete proof that they were allowed a second chance, with the exact same circumstances, you're out of luck.
if i remember correctly, don't schools typically give out the curriculum, agenda, and their grading systems before school begins?
instead of expending all that energy to remain in school, i believe it'd more more productive to go for your lpn elsewhere, and build upon that foundation.
best of everything.

Why did you fail two courses?

I would also recommend going the LPN route and determining what caused you to fail a course. Getting upset about the goodies other people are getting is kinda silly even if what you are saying is the absolute truth. We all start nursing school on uneven starting gates. Some students have to hold a job to support themselves or a family while they go through school while others get full financial support from their parents. Look at your issues and make changes on your part accordingly and move on from there.

things happen; people do fail out of nursing school. if you have enough courses/credit to apply for an lpn license, that may be good advice. in the meantime, you could try being readmitted. as for transferring to a new university/college, they will require you to take the same courses over.
if you obtain your lpn license, there are several options open--a bridge program lpn to adn or a distant learning lpn to adn or lpn to bsn. do not give up hope. things happen that is why it is best to have a plan b. if you decided to change your major, you could always go into health care administration.

Why did they kick you out?
And why did you fail the first course
And why are you blaming this on them?

I am going to agree with the majority. If you have been offered to finish out the LPN program, I would do it. LadyinScrubs is correct. Once you have your LPN license, many more doors will open for you. Most nursing programs do not accept transfer credits. However, if you an LPN to RN bridge or LPN to BSN, you are awarded credits and have only a small number to complete the RN bridge.
I will caution you though. If you chose to accept their offer, you should really do some self-reflection. In other words, find out what happened that caused you not to pass those courses. It would be doubtful the school will be so forgiving the next time.
Good luck!

Is the LPN at the same school or do you need to apply to a different program/school for LPN?
WHY did you fail? Did you have a high average all along and just fail one exam or were you just getting by and didn't do enough on the final exam(s)? (On a side note I never understood classmates that just aimed for the bare minimum passing score rather than doing their best and aiming high).
Did you ask for help during the course? Did you work with your instructor or a tutor to try to identify your weak areas and improve? Did you use your reference materials and study guides to gain a better understanding of the material to increase your chances of a passing grade? When you started the nursing program were you not given a handbook and course outline to know exactly what was required to earn a passing grade and the consequences of failing a class(or classes)? It sounds like this wasn't too much of a shock since you were likely given an warning when you failed your first course
Don't assume that the stories of others getting another chance are true. Life is not fair and you cannot compare your personal situation to another students.
If the school gave you a second chance after failing a course consider yourself lucky. Many schools, like the one I attended, drop you after failing a single course. No second chances to fail a second course.
The school has already denied your appeals for readmission to your current program twice. So it seems at this point your options are clear: stay at the same school and switch to a different major/program, try and gain admission to another school as a nursing major, or go to an LPN program, graduate, pass the NCLEX-PN and reapply for the bridge program.
I can't think of any school that will accept transfer credit for nursing classes, so if you got accepted into another nursing program you would have to start from the beginning which could be a good thing.

Okay... deep breath... I hate admitting this.
I, too, failed out of the program. I had to go before the board and state my case.
But before I did that, I had to really think hard about what happened.
What I learned was this:
I was too stubborn to drop when I was in peril. My philosophy was, "if I don't try I'll never know... if I quit now, what if I would have actually made it?"
Perhaps, some can say I gambled and lost.
Oh, I could tell you what went wrong... but what was I going to do about it?
This is what I did:
I made a plan and put it into action.
I went before the board and told them: this is where I went wrong, this is my plan, this is what I have already done, this is what I am going to continue to do.
Non-emotional and always coming back to the point: this is what I am doing and will continue to do.
No crying, no sob story, no blame... just action!!
You have to take a good hard look at yourself and be honest. Not fun but you must do it or nothing will change.
I not only got back in, but I scored very well on all my exams and supposedly have a 90% chance of passing NCLEX.
I conquered the test-taking beast and put my head back in the game.
Rolling your hands gets you nothing.
I should have been done a year ago, but it's no matter now. I did it.
If your only option ends up being an LPN program, just do it and move on from there.
If you really want it, you'll do it.

Go the LPN route and apply again. If this school won't let you back in at that time, another school will, based on your LPN license and better, (presumably), academic record. Best wishes.

I woud just take the LPN and then go from there....and the girl who failed two courses in one semester...@ my school that is considered 1 fail...when you fail again either one course or both....is considered fail #2 and your out of the program. Good luck, and don't feel bad about becoming an LPN first...look @ it as your school giving you another option and way to get your RN: )
