I am so happy I just got the call that somebody didnt pass a prereq and I now I have thier spot. I have worked hard to get into the program and finally the time is here. To tell you the truth I am kind of scared. But so glad I am making the career change. :uhoh3:

I know that you are so excited!!! It has been a long wait, and I am sure that you are glad that it is over. I am so happy for you that the last person didn't work out. I know that it was rough sitting there at the # 1 spot on the waiting list and knowing that time was getting close. Yes, like you said, now the real stress will soon begin!!!

Again, congrats and good luck in Nursing School!!

That is great news! Best wishes for you in NS!!

Congrats!!!

There was this girl in my Nursing Math class (which is an EASY class if you do all the homework)...she was taking it for the second time, had already been accepted to the program for the Fall.

About 1/2 way through the class, she sent her boyfriend to the class (who was also a nursing student) and she slept in...and only showed up for exam days after that.

She ended up with a D (again) and was dropped from the program b/c you can't take any of the classes a 3rd time.

I would really hate to think I lost my spot over something that preventable.

Congrats!!!

That's really unfortunate, makes you scratch your head.... You should think after the grueling task of getting in people figured out what to expect concerning studying and have developed enough discipline....it is my understanding that it isn't that much different at my school. My Spanish for Healthcare instructor is also a clinical instructor and has told us stories these last few weeks how standards are slacking, that students look unprofessional when arriving for clinicals, wet hair hanging everywhere, or they sleep in class and don't study etc. I know a girl that is repeating Fundamentals this summer because she flunked it in the Spring when she started NS...well, I've seen her previous in the study lab at our Biology center during the prreques and was NEVER impressed with her. How she got into the program is a mystery. I seriously start thinking that they don't only admit close to 4.0 but also lower GPA's.

I am sorry that things are so unfair, I am keeping you in my thoughts and your day will come, you will get in eventually. Shame on that lady for wasting someone elses opportunity Hang in Sweetie!

I know one thing that can seriously get in the way of my success....if the baby sitter lets me down or some other serious crisis happens in my family. But other than that I will get NOTHING in the way of studying and doing well.

Our instructor said even though NS is hard, if we study, show up to class and clinicals, don't get behind and take things serious we will make decent grades. .
