I went to VCC for my pre reqs as well and didnt want to wait a year to enter the program so what I did was applied to Lake Sumter in clermont which has no waiting list either and they take all the pre reqs from VCC. They do require a one credit med math course though. I just am finishing up my first year of nursing school, one more final next week and I am done. wooohoooo hope this might help

I finally got a seat in the nursing program starting in the Fall of 2007, our nursing admin does all the registration for us manually so we just have to go and pay. But I get a call and they say I am on admin hold because I dont have my high school transcripts in. I have taken classes here before and have a degree at another school and also transcripts from a total of 4 different colleges. Why would they need them now, I have also been out of high school for 21 years. I am so frustrated I live in orlando FL and went to high school in Maryland. I am so happy I just got the call that somebody didnt pass a prereq and I now I have thier spot. I have worked hard to get into the program and finally the time is here. To tell you the truth I am kind of scared. But so glad I am making the career change.

I am still waiting and it is not easy at ALL. I started number five on the wait list and now I am number one. I went to orientation two weeks ago and was hoping to hear something than. But heard nothing. All I need is one person to get pregnant or scared or something, and I am in. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Love is patient love is kind.....

I just hope there are four people like you that decline at my school. I am 5th on the list. Wish they would just hurry..I am getting impatient..lol...

Just an update, I talked with the recruiter today and she said I was 5 down on the list. She said my chances are excellent in getting in. She said the same things that you all have shared with me. She said pregnant womem, failing pre reqs and people applying to different schools and not accepting the admission here. So with all said I am not mad anymore....lol...I always say " with GOD all things are possible". Scott

hmmmm maybe I shoud use that one, I am using my GI Bill as well. But I dont think that would really matter in my case. This School doesnt do a spring semester, they only start in the Fall. So I hope a few drop out and I am in..woohoooo Lets pray....

I am not sure. The lady I have to speak with is on vacation until Thursday. The funny thing is that there were 96 slots and only 112 applicants. I have a high GPA but the county thing is what did me in.

I am on the alternate list at Lake sumter. They allow you to apply for the program if you are in your last semester of pre reqs. Valencia will not allow you to apply until you finish ALL pre reqs. I just finished the last one on Thursday so I will apply with them this week. But Valencia accepts all applicants that have pre reqs and NET done, but the down side it is a long wait.

The school is Lake sumter, I only applied there because they have never ever ever filled the whole class up. They only required one class that I didnt have which was some med math . I took all other classes at Valencia which is where the one year wait is. I can only hope and pray that there is a drop out.

Sorry to vent but I am so mad. I got put on an alternate list for the nursing program because they filled all the spots with residents first. I worked hard the last three years to finish all the pre reqs while working full time and having a wonderful supporting wife and two awesome lil boys 2 and 5. But now my only option is to go on the waiting list at another school here in orlando which is a year long, I am not getting any younger.... GRRRRRRR:angryfire
