Well, apparently somehow my scholarship letter got lost in the mail, but a nice lady in the admissions office of my school looked up my award: I got two small scholarships, a community college transfer ($1500/year) and a leadership one ($1000/year). I was hoping for a full scholarship, since those two still don't cover tuition... but who can complain about free money, right? :chuckle
Anyway, I know some of you wonderful allnurses folks were pulling for me, so just thought I'd let you know... now off to search for more funds to hopefully make this nursing school thing a "go!" for this fall. :)
Somehow I get picked for financial aid verification EVERY year, so I have to fill that out before I can find out if I qualify for any fed grants/loans (and more importantly, how much)!
On a side note, I've been in the doctor's office this morning. I have bronchitis, AGAIN - and an asthma flare-up.

congratulations!!! I just wrote another scholarship letter this morning. Time to start sending those apps in again! 1500 a year, great news!!
Sorry to hear that you are sick. Are you on break??
Thanks!
No, I'm taking online courses this term and they don't give us a spring break.
Of course, we don't get spring break from work either. :chuckle
Ugh that stinks. How do you like the online courses? I may be able to take my last Psych class online, and go in once a month for exams. My school doesn't offer much. I'd imagine it is hard to stay disciplined.

That's wonderful about the scholarship money, Manna!! Hopefully you'll be able to find some more of it hiding in some corners and under the rug. :chuckle I know I'm looking everywhere also. :wink2:
Sorry to hear you're sick. I'm battling a kidney infection as well, and it's tough to be sick and study and take care of kids/house. Feel better soon!

Good for you!
Thanks guys!
I'm feeling fairly better today - back at work, anyway. :)
I love my online courses - they're difficult (much more self-directed, obviously, so you have to be incredibly disciplined), but fit quite well around my work/home schedule .... something I've had problems doing with traditional classes.

Manna congrats on your scholarship! Also glad to hear you are feeling better. There's nothing worse than being sick in the spring or summer.
