Ever get a song stuck in your head while you're at work and find yourself humming or singing it? Share with us
One of my favorite things to do at work is to include the words of a song, or a line from a movie, when I'm talking to someone.Yesterday, I told the CNA that the patients were acting up because there was a "Bad moon on the rise". (God, I'm old)
And who hasn't stood at the Pyxis yelling to no one in particular, "Can I get a witness ...."
or said/sang under your breath to that one whiney patient, "You can't always get what you wannnt"
"They're coming to take me away, haha, they're coming to take me away, hoho, heehee, haha....." That one used to pop into my head sometimes during a crazy shift when I swore I was gonna lose it if the patient at the farthest end of the hall kept pushing her call light. Just goes to prove I'm old, lol.
I absolutely blame it on satellite radio. All 80's all the time and I might as well throw up a karaoke machine and take requests!!
And I have been "caught" more than once pulling into parking singing anything from "Little Red Corvette" to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" with the windows down.....
I shall not quit my day job!! HAHAHAHAHA
I have music playing in my office all the time (school nurse, here) so I sing along with whatever my phone dock is playing, right now it's Mumford and Sons, which has a bad word in it, so I will have to switch it if a student comes in. When I worked in the ER, I bought a radio that we used to play behind the nurse's station at a low volume. We used to have sing-alongs all the time. The one that always makes me smile when I think of it was Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror". We were kind of busy, but 3 or 4 of us just stopped what we were doing and sang "make that.....CHANGE!" (right at the key change). We all laughed and went back to what we were doing.
**Wanders off singing "So whatcha whatcha whatch want...."** It's the Beastie Boys now. :)
