Ever get a song stuck in your head while you're at work and find yourself humming or singing it? Share with us

When I get stressed at work.....the muppet theme song , crazy huh?! lol

Specializes in SICU, trauma, neuro.

The other day I found myself humming this "My Little Pony" song that my 3 yr old sings incessantly...

I need serious help. :roflmao: (At least I was at the nursing desk and not in a pt room.)

And on a more serious note (ba-dum-ching!), a few times I've found myself humming the soundtrack of the movie "Luther."

One of my favorite movies, and the music is sooooooo pretty!
Specializes in Palliative, Onc, Med-Surg, Home Hospice.
When I was labor & delivery, I always had "push it" in my head.....go figure :)

We started singing "Can I get a witness, can I get a witness" whenever we needed to waste a narc.

Specializes in 15 years in ICU, 22 years in PACU.
One of my favorite things to do at work is to include the words of a song, or a line from a movie, when I'm talking to someone.

Yesterday, I told the CNA that the patients were acting up because there was a "Bad moon on the rise". (God, I'm old)

And who hasn't stood at the Pyxis yelling to no one in particular, "Can I get a witness ...."

or said/sang under your breath to that one whiney patient, "You can't always get what you wannnt"

Specializes in LTC, assisted living, med-surg, psych.

"They're coming to take me away, haha, they're coming to take me away, hoho, heehee, haha....." That one used to pop into my head sometimes during a crazy shift when I swore I was gonna lose it if the patient at the farthest end of the hall kept pushing her call light. Just goes to prove I'm old, lol.

I absolutely blame it on satellite radio. All 80's all the time and I might as well throw up a karaoke machine and take requests!!

And I have been "caught" more than once pulling into parking singing anything from "Little Red Corvette" to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" with the windows down.....

I shall not quit my day job!! HAHAHAHAHA

Specializes in ICU.

Last night a RT started singing "I know you lie, 'cause your lips are moving...."

My brain was stuck the rest of the night!

Specializes in ED, School Nurse.

I have music playing in my office all the time (school nurse, here) so I sing along with whatever my phone dock is playing, right now it's Mumford and Sons, which has a bad word in it, so I will have to switch it if a student comes in. When I worked in the ER, I bought a radio that we used to play behind the nurse's station at a low volume. We used to have sing-alongs all the time. The one that always makes me smile when I think of it was Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror". We were kind of busy, but 3 or 4 of us just stopped what we were doing and sang "make that.....CHANGE!" (right at the key change). We all laughed and went back to what we were doing.

**Wanders off singing "So whatcha whatcha whatch want...."** It's the Beastie Boys now. :)

It's a hard knock LIFE for us, it's a hard knock LIFE for us...
