Is this a good offer for full-time home health? I have no experience in home health care.....I accepted the offer because I thought it was reasonable, any thoughts or oh pinions?

Depends on where you live I suppose.

Most people make minimum wage or less. Many are unemployed. Think of it that way and you'll realize the answer.

That can be considered a decent salary as long as your workday is limited to a normal eight hours and you are not otherwise encroached upon. Salaried personnel are often taken for granted.

Too many variables to know whether that is good or bad

Such a weird answer on a nursing forum. Are you implying that most RNs make minimum wage or less? I think this is a reasonable question on a nursing forum and the fact that *some* (not most) people in America make minimum wage has nothing to do with whether or not this is an acceptable nursing salary.

My PA HHA employer starts salary at $30.00/hr FT for new grads and goes up based on experience. $37.50/hr = 78,000/yr + benefits, a decent salary if on east/south coast/middle america--more needed if California.
I make just over that with 30 yrs homecare experience.

Where I live, our new nurses start out higher, but it really depends on where you live.
Also, mid you speak with the other nurses before you were hired? Or do a ridealong? So much also depends on what you're expected to accomplish, what territory if any you'll cover, the general nature of your patient census..
Give more details and we can help.
I live in Connecticut.they originally offered me 36.50, I counter offered with 38 and ended up with 3750. At the hospital that I'm leaving I make over $45 an hour! And I work 28 hours/wk as compared to 40. Am I crazy? I'm looking for a challenge, better schedule, and to feel like I am actually making a difference in a patient's life. I thought 37.50 was a decent offer, given that I do not have Homecare experience.......I hope I didn't make a mistake!😳😳
I want to thank everyone who has replied. It's so nice to have a forum such as this.

Honestly I don't care what other people are making, be it minimum wage or not. As a professional you have a right and a duty to expect proper compensation for your time and knowledge, and valuing it at a proper range is the most effective way to approach it. Not too high, not too low, just the right amount.

Again, it depends on where you live and how much you think you are worth. I live on the East Coast. I made 31/hr 10 years ago in home care and I was paid more than other new nurses since I was only new to home health. I run a SNF....not many of the newer nurses are making $37.50 an hour. So it's really up to you. If you like the job, give it a shot.
