I usually sleep for 16+ hours straight. I work 4 or 5 in a row, usually.

Before NP school: Sleep, vegetate, and make sure my short people are pink and breathing.

Now: Study and make sure my short people are pink and breathing.

Oh thank God! I thought I was the only one who slept all day and then all night!

Days off, we get those? Sleep, eat, repeat

Sleeping, allnurses, watching tv, wasting time (aka not doing school)....

Specializes in NICU, ICU, PICU, Academia.
Sleeping for 12 hours. A little mindless TV. Order a pizza. Go back to bed.

Outdid myself Monday - slept 4 hours. Sat in my recliner and ate dinner (fetched by one of my kids) returned to bed and slept 15 straight. Ahhhhhhhh............

When I worked 12's, slept.

Now I go visit the parentals, as they are getting old and going nuts. Get it done, get it out of the way, then do what I want the rest of the weekend.

Specializes in Pediatric.

I'm pretty useless on my first day off. I usually sleep in, shop, eat pizza, watch Netflix, and try to do some sort of housework. Wash or buy scrubs/socks.

Specializes in CCU, MICU, and GMF Liver.

buy breakfast, watch a little youtube, sleep until I wake up naturally (no alarm or phone) for about 5-6 hours or more, get sunshine, eat, workout, longboard, work on entreprenurial endeavors.

edit: I also try to work 3-4 days in a row. 12 hr shifts

Sleep in an extra 2-5 hours, then go for a lengthy run.

Contrary to what most would expect, I don't play candycrush away from work on a regular basis. If I get stuck on a level and I am hungry for it, I'll take a few cracks at it. Nothing more than that though.

Specializes in Home Health.

When I get off in the morning I fight my sleep until I pass out, typically before noon. Then I wake up between 3-6pm and am in zombie mode until about 10:30pm, when I finally become alert and functional. I'll stay up until about 3am and sleep until noon the next day.

Night shift is hard, those first nights off are totally wasted.

Specializes in Pediatrics, Emergency, Trauma.

Sleep, exercise, Netflix.

If I am feeling inspired, I will shop early enough away from the usual rush. ;)

Specializes in ED.

Two years ago...I would sleep. Now...my two year old nephew and I party. Building towers with blocks, throwing balls around, whatever he wants to do.
