How often you see your boyfriend while in nursing school

i will start my 2nd year of nursing school and will be taking med surg 2 (the hardest course). i have 1 chance to fail, as others have 2. i have a boyfriend of 7 months and i told him that i will rarely get to see him. the only time i'll get to see him is when i have lunch with him after i take the tests. my free time will be spent studying, doing projects, clinicals, and going to the gym. my boyfriend lives 30 minutes away from me, so it's not too convenient to see him. he tells me not to worry about it, but i know he'll be sad not to see me often.

so i would like to ask you (to those who have a boyfriend and not a husband / common-law husband)... how often do you see your boyfriend / girlfriend?

My BF kinda complained about not seeing me much while I was taking the pre-reqs. I plainly told him " If you dont think you see me now just wait til I start NS, you may not remember who I am...lol. He knows how important NS is to me and will just have to make the adjustment while I am in school.

I'm relocating to go to NS. Its either a 12 hour drive or an hour plane ride!! My fiance and I have been engaged and living together for three years. Its going to be challenging. Hopefully, we will make it through the next two years. But I wasn't going to turn down an acceptance to a program. He understands my hopes and dreams. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

Since you seem to be pretty emphatic that he's your boyfriend and not someone you consider a "significant other" at this point, here's some advice from an old married lady:

Guys come and go, but you have only one shot at completing nursing school and earning that RN. (according to your post) You can always work on your "MRS" after you finish that RN! Keep your priorities straight and everything else will either fall into place or fall off your radar screen as nonimportant.

You took the words right out of my mouth, except for the old married lady part ;)

Wow, I completely forgot about this post... this was so long ago! LOL

Anyways, he IS my boyfriend... should I call him my pre-fiance... pre-husband... the love of my life... my lover? HAHA I didn't know the title was so important! He means the world to me and we're gonna get married sometime. ANYWAYS, yes, I know, my priorities are straight. I've seen him once a week the entire time we've been going out and my grades show that. I'm almost done with nursing school. I'll graduate, find me a job, and get married. The end.

Apparently nursing school was just too much for my boyfriend. Call him & his phone get answered accidently in his pants pocket, just in time for me to hear him flirting with some drunk girl who's saying ""ooh, you're such a gentleman." and "do you think your girlfriend will be mad"

My boyfriend lives about 2 and a half hours drive from me now, because I had to transfer schools for acceptance to nursing school, and he's honestly been my rock through all of it. We talk pretty much all day every day through calls, emails, texts, facebook. And though sometimes we have to go 2 weeks, we usually get one whole day a week together. Some days we don't talk much because I have clinicals all day or have major tests coming up, but I still need to have that time out to talk to him at night and make sure to have everything done for that one day I have with him. Our talks and our one day a week together really hold me together and we both keep our goal in mind, to graduate and get married so we can both have our dreams. There are tough times, but he's always reminding me that he's there through the good and bad, and that we're going to make it through these 5 semesters and be a stronger couple for it in the end. :)

Well now that I graduated and my gf started NS, we rarely see each other. It has its benefits and drawbacks but the time we do get is great. So I cant complain too much. 1.5 years to go!

I don't get to see my boyfriend as much now since my husband is demanding more of my attention. :|

My boyfriend lives with me, and I never see him. Get used to it. We eat & sleep together, that's about it.

I have a husband, his name is Medical Careers Institute and I see him everyday. :loveya:

I have a husband, his name is..... what is his name again, oh yeah Dale..... and even though we live together I see him a few times a week.

LOL, but we are a military family so our schedules are both insane.

He lives 5 minutes from me,

so I usually go to his house in the morning after lecture and vent! lol

I don't know how you guys do it, I barely have enough time for myself and my family, no time or energy or emotional ressources to have a boyfried or girlfriend. So no boyfriend, no problem. If I had one it would be too crazy to juggle everything.

I have no idea how some people who have kids, dogs, a mortgage and a job manage to go to nursing school! My hat off to ya folks!
