I was told they would be receiving accrediation Jan. 2011. They first group/class started in 2010. It was all dependent upon test scores...I think. I went to an info session last fall. That was they were telling the attendees. HTH

I'm relocating to go to NS. Its either a 12 hour drive or an hour plane ride!! My fiance and I have been engaged and living together for three years. Its going to be challenging. Hopefully, we will make it through the next two years. But I wasn't going to turn down an acceptance to a program. He understands my hopes and dreams. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

I'm commuting about an hour and 15 minutes each way. The weather (snow/ice) will be an issue. I hope my instructors are understanding!!

I just took the HESI on Friday, July 23. Math: pretty simple. Know the Roman Numerals. Especially 5, 10, and fractions and ratios Bio: Pretty general A&P: Heart questions. Overall pretty general. Sorry I cannot remember any specific questions I scored a 91 cummulative 830 Critical Thinking I used the study guide from the HESI website. I rented it from Chegg.com for $25.

Hi I was told by a NP, that NP's in mental health do very well (six figure salaries) on the West Coast, primarily Washington and Oregon. Hope this helps!

I believe they will have approval by Jan. 2011. They have to pass/make a certain score of 80% for the NCLEX...I think....in order to be approved. A friend of mine went to one of the information sessions and she told me what it was but I can't remember exactly. The school is pretty certain they will get approval.

Chegg is great. It will save you a ton of money. You can also add days if you need to. I used my A & P book for 2 semesters, it was not a problem renewing my book. You can also sell other textbooks to Chegg. I had some books my college would not buy back. Chegg did. So, I made some money!! They send you a VISA gift card for any books you sell them.

I am looking into UVI for Fall 2010 or Spring 2011. Do any of you have any thoughts on this school? How is the culture? How is the program? Thanks!

Does your textbook have a website? We used Mcgraw-Hill/Aris. This website has quizzes, chapter outlines, flash cards, cross word puzzles, videos, and labeling exercises. Try googling A&P online study guides or A&P online quizzes. You should be able to find some stuff that will help you. U Tube also has some videos on things like the Z disk model, sliding filament model, action potentials etc.

A&P II Micro Maybe Organic Chem.........but I'm not sure yet.

I treated my A&P binder of notes like a Bible. I took it with me EVERYWHERE. If I had 2 minutes to spare....I was reading my notes. I took it to the gym while I exercised. You have to live and breathe A&P. Its your foundation. Learn it, live it. You won't regret it. Try to apply the material to everyday situations. If someone says head, think cranium or skull. Pick words that people say, and appy it to A&P. If you exfoliate your skin, think of the layers of skin (basal, spinousum, granulosum, lucedum, corneum....I'm sure I spellled them incorrectly). Etc. If you can apply it to your everyday life, you will maintain/retain the information.

Chat Tech has info sessions going on right at various campuses. They are taking applications for the Jan. 2011 class. Deadline is Sept 17, 2010.
