How much is your pay?

I'm just curious...

Salaries varies from state to state, as well as the years of experience, and the area of specialty, right? How much is your pay per month? :heartbeat :nurse: :heartbeat

Let me go out on a limb here, I will assume you are from the Philippines, (Pearl of Orient - Location)

Lets base currency conversion on a 40 peso per 1 dollar.

In PI you are looking at about 8 to 10 dollars per day in pay, versus about 200 per day pay in USA.

I am shocked by the low pay per hour in USA, that some of these nurses are making.

I thought a RN would be making around 30 to 40 dollars per hour.

FYI, I am not a nurse nor is my occupation in the nursing or hospital field.

Old base $27.60

New Base $30.13

Plus I work weekends only which is $6.13/hr

Total compensation $36.26/hr. Thats $75,000 a year based on a 40 hour work week. Not bad for a new grad ADN in my opinion.

Yes I do live in a high cost area (Boston), but 75 grand is not bad at all.

may not be such a good idea..you really should have health insurance, even if you are young and healthy! :uhoh3:

check the debates about health coverage on the boards here!!!

My wife was just recruited by a large hospital in the Houston. She has nine years experience and a BSN. She accepted a position in one of their satellite hospitals in the suburbs for $32.00 an hour base with a $3.75 evening and $1.00 weekend differential. She was also given a 10k signing bonus in which she has to stay for two years to receive in full. She'll also receive up to 8k for relocation, as well as first day benefits. Even though the base salary is a little less than what she is currently making here in NJ the cost of living in Houston is 40-50% less.

Just an observation from other blogs: this is the Internet, don't believe everything you read, especially with pay.

In my experience, everyone makes about the same, depending on geography and experience, and you can add perks like weekends only diff or night shift diff, but none of us are making a big crazy wage. Don't sweat trying to find it. Oh yeah and Orange County, CA, 8 years, telemetry, 37 bucks day shift. 8 bucks extra for doing every weekend.

I opted out of insurance at one point because I got it from my husband's employer instead. I received $5/hour more because of this. That was $800/month (gross pay) more. It was only $40/month to add onto his policy.

Just accepted job offer for new grad position in Houston 'burbs, $24.35 per hour, $3 shift diff for 2nd shift, $4.50 for 3rd, and extra $1.50 (I think thats right for weekends, I'd have to go look at my paperwork) for weekends. Also will get a $2500 sign on bonus, and reimbursement for the last semester of school, tuition and books. I will have orientation on days 7a-7p then I can switch to nights if I want or stay on days if I want.
