I'm just curious...
Salaries varies from state to state, as well as the years of experience, and the area of specialty, right? How much is your pay per month? :heartbeat :heartbeat
So, I've heard travel can pay well. How does it end up with working for a few months and living in an apartment that they pay for (I hear N. California pays well)? Does anyone still make a "killing" while traveling away from where they live? Some of you have wages that reflect the COL, for sure. Just curious how well travel "really" does pay.
Travelers don't usually get paid for experience so if you are a new nurse you can make alot of money being a traveler but if you have alot of experience you are better off working in a well paying city and getting paid for your experience
wow, I am DEFINITELY the lowest paid nurse on this thread so far. My base pay is 18.03. Thats with 3 years experience as RN. This doesnt count my 2.00/hr shift diff for working nights and 1.00/hr for weekends. But I get 8 weeks paid vacations a year...which is nice. Im switching to another job soon that is a Baylor plan that pays only .50 more per hour, but I get paid for 3 and work only 2. So it averages out to be more total. I live in Kentucky.
I am graduating from an ADN program in May and have accepted a position on a medical floor with a base rate of $20.52/hour. I will be signing up with a new program where I will get a $10 shift differential for agreeing to work 50 out of 52 weekends (I chose Sat, Sun, Mon, but I also had the option of Fri, Sat, Sun). I actually get the differential anytime I work, except inservices. For nights the diff for this program is $14. The regular shift diffs for this hospital are $5 for weekends and $4 for nights. I will most likely end up working 7 days each 2 week pay period, so from what I figure, this will put me over $68k/year. This is in South Carolina.

Go for Fri, Sat, Sun. Mondays are usually horrible because that is when you get admits like crazy

But Sat, Sun, Mon will still give her a Friday night free to spend out on the town with family or friends. Dang, that is good pay though! This thread has made me sooo depressed! My pay sucks!
I don't work in a hospital anymore, haven't for the last 3 years. I make around 54k annually, 2 weeks paid vacation. If I went back to the hospital, I could probably make 60k or 70k easily.
A friend of mine makes 34-50 dollars/hour depending upon whether she works extra shifts or not (34 is her base). This is Louisiana.
