How many years have you been a nurse? And how much longer do intend to work as one?

I have been a nurse for almost 27 years and I retired a little over a year ago.

Less than 2 years, and at 45 years of age, I plan to work as a nurse - or at least a nurse supervisor (what I am doing now) - until retirement. I had the privilege of raising my 4 sons for 17 years before starting nursing school so I have "a ways to go". :)

18 yrs as a nurse

plan to work another 19 yrs till I'm 70.

7 years as a floor/ICU nurse....17 years as a CRNA. Plan to work another 20 til retirement.

4 years, all types of units (agency), currently ft ER nurse. Plan on working as an RN until I retire in some form or another.

-0.3 years, but that number will be positive really soon (assuming I pass the NCLEX)

5 years nurse. I'm really not thinking about retiring. Maybe if im really really old i will be at a university teaching.

14 years. Plan to work either as a nurse or NP until I'm financially secure enough to retire. Or maybe longer.. I love it.

15 years- LTC, and will retire in another 15! Good retirement benefits where i am at, so will get to retire a bit early!!

Around 5 and 1/2: graduated in 2004 at the age of 45, then 3 and 1/2 years as a bedside nurse, almost 2 years as an NP. (acute rehab for most of the time.) Now community health and primary care NP

29 years

Have a mortgage, so retiring is far off on the horizon. Also started teaching, so that will go on even longer I hope.
