How many years have you been a nurse? And how much longer do intend to work as one?

Wow!!!

18 yrs as a nurse

plan to work another 19 yrs till I'm 70.

Specializes in med/surg, telemetry.

16 years and counting.... was a travel nurse about 9 years and last 3 happily working in a float pool. :)

Specializes in L&D; GI; Fam Med; Home H; Case mgmt.
29 years

Have a mortgage, so retiring is far off on the horizon. Also started teaching, so that will go on even longer I hope.

I hope everyone will read the quote in your signature and REALLY ponder it. Especially after what just happened on the floor of the HofR.

I am up to 23 years as a nurse with no intention of stopping now - at 43 plenty of nursing in my yet !

JO

Specializes in Med/Surg.

I've been an RN since I was 21, so I'll hit nine years in a couple of months.

Who knows when I will retire, if I work til 70 (and with the track SS is on, that just might be necessary!) I have 40 years to go. I don't know what path I will take (I don't plan to stay at the bedside, doing what I am doing, for THAT many more years, my body will never make it) but I'll work as a nurse in some capacity until I don't work any more.
