I was wondering how many here are members of NASN? I am getting around to it, know I should, but was wondering how many are and what benefits/perks you use and appreciate about it. Thanks!

I joined when I got this job because I really had no knowledge of the ins and outs of school nursing. I have gotten lots of information from their website, they have a forum that I get in a daily email digest that has very interesting discussions. It also gives you membership to your states School Nurse website (if you have one) which has been a very good resource. I wouldn't hesitate to join, if you dont' find it helpful you can always cancel.

I am a member. They have a ton of good resources and access to the Journal of School Nursing.

I joined because my district pays for membership. Really the only perk I use is the VSP vision Vouchers for kids that need eye exams & glasses and don't have vision coverage - you can get up to 25/year.

This ^^^ and they have a lot of free CEUs that pertain to school nursing. Well worth the investment.

yes!
My district pays as well.
That would be awesome if the fee was paid by the district, mine does not.
If you paid out of pocket - you can use it as a tax write off. I have done that in the past.
