Sometimes I feel like I'll be doing pre-reqs for 2 years!!

Just wondering how many pre-reqs others have to do and how far along you are?

I have to do:

Psychology 101 *DONE*

Math 082 *DONE*

Math092 *1/2 way done*

Math 122

Biology 156 *1/2 way done*

Chemistry 130

Biology 201

The fact that I started on the bottom with the math is what sucks so bad. Plus I had no bio from high school or chemistry to transfer over.

My goal is to be done with pre-reqs by December 2009.

Specializes in ER/Acute Care.

I know how you feel! I started thinking about pre-reqs in 2005, when I finished undergrad. My list is as follows:

I'm expecting to be done all of them the Summer of 2010. Then I have to take a year of junior nursing type classes, part time again, this time to get my resident status so I can get tuition WAY cheaper. I am going to be applying in the Spring of 2010 for the Fall 2011 program. But if I get in then graduation is in sight in Spring of 2013, lol!

It looks like you are all getting your BSN, right? That's a TON of pre-reqs!!

How it works here, is.. since it's such a long wait to get into the ADN program, you can get the ADN program pre-reqs done, then once you are on the waiting list for the 2 year program you can start taking the RN-BSN pre-reqs. Which is what I plan on doing. The wait for nursing school is probably 3-4 semesters.. which is another 2 years worth of schooling before the actual nursing program!!

Geezzzzzzzzzz louise.

But if you are all doing just an ADN program I am very surprised!! I know our program had so many pre-reqs for the ADN that they made our school cut back because we were only 30 credits away from being a BSN program lol

Man, writing it out it looks like so much! So including Spring Semester that starts in a few weeks I have 10 classes to go and 6 done. Blah.

The community colleges in my state want a lot. If don't have any prior college credits to tr over then it takes about 4 years total for the ADN - so basically the same amount of time as a BSN. And they're picky about what they'll accept from prior undergrad work so even if you already have a Bachelors you might end up having to take a lot more prereqs in short order than you thought you would.
