How many classes do you have left?

Published

Sometimes I feel like I'll be doing pre-reqs for 2 years!!

Just wondering how many pre-reqs others have to do and how far along you are?

I have to do:

Psychology 101 *DONE*

Math 082 *DONE*

Math092 *1/2 way done*

Math 122

Biology 156 *1/2 way done*

Chemistry 130

Biology 201

The fact that I started on the bottom with the math is what sucks so bad. Plus I had no bio from high school or chemistry to transfer over.

My goal is to be done with pre-reqs by December 2009.

Specializes in student; help!.

I have to take Speech. I'm doing pathphys this semester but took an incomplete because I (finally) had my baby and she's taking up a wee bit of my time right now. But I probably don't start until fall of 2010, so I have time on my side.

My top choice has a ton of prerequisites, which I'm working to complete as I finish my first degree. After spring semester I'll be finished with my science prerequisites and at least 40 of my 60 required credits so I could apply and receive a provisional acceptance for Spring of 2010 after that.

Chemistry - DONE

Nutrition - DONE

Microbiology - DONE

A&P I – Spring 2009

A&P II – Spring 2009

Statistics – Spring 2009

Intro to Sociology - DONE

Intro to Psychology – Summer 2009

Intro to Philosophy – in progress

American Government – Summer 2009

Texas Government – Summer 2009

U.S. History - DONE

Visual arts - DONE

Growth and Development - DONE

English Composition - DONE

Electives - DONE

Specializes in Acute Rehab, Community/ Public Health.

I've been accepted into a post-bacc nursing program. I finished my Anatomy pre-req on Wed (yah!), so that means 4 more pre-reqs.

Biomedical ethics - Spring 09

Devel Psych - Spring 09

Nutrition - Summer 09 (and CNA test out)

Microbiology - Fall 09

And if all goes well, nursing classes begin in Spring 2010 (can't wait!)

I have to take A&P 2, Intermediate Algebra, Microbiology, and Growth and Development.

Wait, you are taking both A&P I AND A&P II next semester? Are you sure your school allows that? Technically we aren't supposed to at my school, although I knew a girl that did. Just a cautionary tale, but she didn't do very well. They break it up into I and II for a reason. Not to be negative Nancy or anything.....just want to be sure you know what you are getting yourself into. :coollook:

I would have to agree with WantAccel.BSN my school offer it seperately, the only way to take them together is if you are repeating them. They don't recommend them together especially if you want good grades.

Yeah- so my school is weird. My school actually doesn't have an "Anatomy and Physiology" class- we have an anatomy class and "animal physiology." So I'm taking the anatomy class (sort of the equivalent of A&P I) at my school. Now, a sister school offers "Anatomy and Physiology" followed the next semester by "Intro to Physiology" (which I'm assuming is the equivalent of A&P II, and which has its anatomy and physiology class as a prerequisite). I'm not worried about taking the anatomy class at my school next semester, because it has no prerequisites. For the Intro to Physiology class at the other school (essentially A&P II), I'm not too worried about it because my major is partly in anatomy so I've already had several anatomy-heavy classes, and my minor is in bio so I've had intro to bio and I've had micro and hopefully that will be enough physiology to catch me up to the people in my intro to physiology class at the other school. Just in case, though, I bought the textbook for the other school's A&P I class and I've been studying it over Christmas Break- really nothing in there that I haven't seen before in one class or another (whew!- but it's a good review). So I really appreciate the concern and TOTALLY understand what you're saying, but I'm hoping I'm prepared enough to handle both of these at once. I'm sure it will be a lot of work, but I've had to take orgo, calculus, and physics for my major already so it doesn't scare me too much- and it will actually be stuff I'm interested in (hallelujah!). Sorry this is so long, and thanks again for making sure that I know what I'm getting myself into!:D

Wow, that's so cool that you've been accepted for Spring 2010 already! Spring 2010 will be the first time my top choice has a spring class, and they haven't even set the admissions deadline yet. So nice to know that you are already in- congratulations!!!!

From what started as a very long list, I only have two pre-requisites left to complete next term:

A & P III

ANTH 103 ( Cultural Anthropology)

I'm applying in the Spring for next Fall.

Bio 111-A&P II (Spring '09)

Chem 125- Intro to General, Organic and Bio Chem (Spring '09)

Phy 103- Physics for Nursing (Spring '09)

The others I had to take were:

Bio 110- A&P I

Psy 100- Intro to Psych

Psy 210- Lifespan Psych

Mat 108-Math for Life Sciences

Mat 107- Intro to Stats

Chem 120- Gen Chem I

Eng 112- English Comp II

Specializes in (Hopefully one day..) neuro/urology ^.^.

I've already gotten English 1301 & my Arts out the way.

This Spring I'll be taking:

Anatomy 1

General Psychology

Interpersonal Communication

Sociology

Then, after those I'll have following classes left:

Another Psychology (forget which one it is)

Microbiology

Anatomy 2

1 hr physical education class

Pharmacology (not a pre-req but they recommend it be done before NS)

I feel like there's one I'm forgetting..maybe nutrition?

'

Anyways - I plan on entering NS in the spring or fall of '10 :D

Specializes in MICU - CCRN, IR, Vascular Surgery.

Already finished -

BA in Spanish 2002

Psych 101 - A - Fall 07

ANP 1 - A - Spring 08

Eng 111 - A - Spring 08

ANP 2 - A - Summer 08

Eng 211 - A - Summer 08

Sociology 111

(Hopefully!) Nursing school Fall 09

And sometime during NS I need to take a 1 credit hour "life skills" class, which can be done whenever. I can't believe I've gotten this far already!
