Just wondering how frustrated I should be at this point? Is it normal to not get any bite at all after one or two months?
Got my license "officially" jan 31/2012 and got my first job February...16th. Two weeks :/) before I got my license, I applied Everywhere!!! What a waste of time!!! I've updated my resume, got a new job yesterday n hopefully getting another job offer by the end of the week for full time somewhere else!!!! Needless to say, I could potentially be working three jobs by the end of the week. One FT 8-430 m-f, PT 5-9 and PRn every other weekend :-) I might be pulling my hair out mind you :-) but I LOvE making money and paying my bills. Ahhhhh, finally!!! :) Lon-rn transition might be pretty tough!
Took me five months BUT I decided to take one last "summer vacation" before I started looking. Took a couple weeks after I started applying. Graduated high school at 17, nursing school at 18 and was totally burned out, fried, numbed beyond belief (whatever you want to call it) by the time I was 22.... not the way I'd suggest starting out
I am an older mom in Columbus, Ohio, and I'm thinking about going back to school to be a LPN. I already got my STNA certification. I would like to be a RN, but I think I would have to take too many classes and it would take too long.
Does anyone know of any good LPN schools besides Columbus State? Their pat-time program takes over two years to complete. I found two websites about the Columbus School of Practical Nursing and also the ITT Breckenridge School of Nursing...does anyone have any experience with these schools? Also, does anyone know how hard it is to get a LPN job in Columbus, Ohio area? I wanted to work at a hospital but I don't see many openings on the hospital websites. I wanted to work at OSU medical center, but someone in HR told me on the phone that they don't hire LPNs anymore. I woud become a medical assistant, but why go to school for 1 year to get paid $10.00/hour? I'm not sure what to do...

Well..I've only been licensed for 2 days, but already I've been hitting the pavement looking for jobs. When I became a CNA in 2009, it took me 2 months to find a job. Most places were looking for 1-2 yrs experience. I'm sort of seeing the same trend for LPN positions. I'm wondering if I should just apply to places even though they may not have advertisements about job openings. So far I've only applied to jobs that have had ads online or in the paper.
