  1. Excelsior College - excelsior.edu. You do set them up yourself. Check out the website for more info. It's a great program.
  2. About $8,000. You go at your own pace. Can be done in one year, can be done in 5. I am trying to get mine done by 18months :-)
  3. Yes! It is very possible! I am currently working in a clinic Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30. I get home a little bit after 5 each day. I have been during LPN to RN online with excelsior college as so far so good. I have about 6 months left (Hopefully) in the program. I started while working full time and I am still full time. Very possible, very doable. Then again, I don't have kids ...I still maintain a very busy lifestyle but I don't think my "busy" lifestyle right now is comparable to kids. Good luck!
  4. I am in Lima
  5. In my office the LPNs do the referrals. We don't have RNS just LPns and CMAs. It's also a small practice and we do things on "teams" a team is consist off an LPN, MA with a CNP or doctor.
  6. Got my credit card specifically for excelsior in this week! Yay!! Signing up for the first test: HEALTH SAFETY on Monday. Planning on taking the test June 30th. Any recommendations on studying for this test? Is 50 hours of studying/preparation enough? Because that's my plan 10-15 hours of studying for 4 weeks. I'll be getting on ebay this weekend to order study guide 101.
  7. I went out for vacation. Just got back today! !! Getting it done soon, money is what's keeping me from signing up darn it! Making the commitment to put life n vacation on hold for a bit n just get errr done!
  8. There are a few new job postings in the Lima area but at $15the an hour, prob wouldn't be worth it to move
  9. where are you from right nosh Havatars
  10. Keeping yalll updated ... they called last Friday for another interview. I wen in on Monday thinking I was done. Then a cal today for a THIRD interview with the hiring manager tomorrow! !! Mind you the last interview was w a hiring manager for nurses and HR hiring manager also! Lol. I feel like someone is playing a joke on me! Last interview was alot harder then the first
  11. Got my license "officially" jan 31/2012 and got my first job February...16th. Two weeks :/) before I got my license, I applied Everywhere!!! What a waste of time!!! I've updated my resume, got a new job yesterday n hopefully getting another job offer by the end of the week for full time somewhere else!!!! Needless to say, I could potentially be working three jobs by the end of the week. One FT 8-430 m-f, PT 5-9 and PRn every other weekend :-) I might be pulling my hair out mind you :-) but I LOvE making money and paying my bills. Ahhhhh, finally!!! :) Lon-rn transition might be pretty tough!
  12. Ohhh wow!!! That is too bad!!! Keep your head up!! Keep interviewing! Your resume obviouslty stick out of the many. A job will come your way soon enough :/)
  13. Waitressing all the way! find a PCA PRN position if possible. you'll make more PRN and work less. Waitressing makes was more then PCA
  14. Ohio LPN new grad $15.45 per hour prn no shift differential....second job part $15.00 per hour. Both nursing homes. Northwest Ohio. Seems farely low when I see other postings.
  15. Thank you for your reply!!! I am hoping to sign up for it Friday...figure study for one month per exam n get done by next June completely... Health safety does seem to be more common sense and all review. I'll def buy Lisa's CDs. I seen them on eBay! Let me know how Transition goes!! Sounds like I'm just a step behind you! Maybe we can keep each other motivated!:-)
