How did you find out about allnurses?

Hey everyone . just wondering how do YOU find out about allnurses.com. I found out about it when I was searching for somehting about nursing school and I looked for it on a search engine. I happened to pass this site on that search. I thought this was interesting site, but not exactly what I was looking for at the time. When I finally realized I was going to do it (nursing school). I thought about this site and been hooked here ever since.:)

I was struggling with whether to pursue nursing or social work, and just being silly I typed in on the search engine, "Should I be a nurse or a social worker" and it brought me to a link for allnurses.com :)

I have no clue how I found this site but am glad I did!! Now that I am done with all my prereqs its application time. It will be a long few months, until late April/early May until I hear if I am in and where. :rolleyes:

Saw an ad in Nursing1999 + RN managine: Black and white photo of a body in morgue shroud with toe tag peaking out "allnurses.com." Been posting ever since joining.

Was successful in organizing a nursing rally in Philly from activism efforts here and helped lobby and pass legislation possitively affecting nursing in PA. Have met several of our posters and enjoy world wide friendships.....who would have thought a nursing bulletin board could be such a springboard!

I googled student nursing and somewhere along the lines saw a link to allnurses. It's been my greatest nursing resources since! :)

I was searching for nursing websites. For the longest time I just suscribed to the newsletter before actually joining.

I was involved in a really bad worker's comp suit (mine) and I was looking for how much weight a nurse lifts, how long we're on our feet etc. I found this place in 2000 (I think) but it was in a slightly different format. There was the poll "Would you encourage others to become a nurse?"

Needless to say I answered it.

I didn't return for about a year or so. By then Brian had really put some work into it, even those golden yellow bars.......and I was hooked. I even had a more positive answer to the poll by then.

I was in my first semester of nursing (Fall of 2003) when one of our instructors gave us a list of nursing websites to visit. We had to write a short paper on our favorite one. This was one of the websites and I got stuck on the bulletin board. I've been coming here several times a day since. I now tell my teachers not to send me to websites.....I have enough problems pulling myself away from the ones they sent me to already. :rotfl:

I joined about two months ago and I have trouble remembering how I got here. Hummm, if I remember correctly, it started with my clinical teacher showing us some nurstoon. I went on that site and I think I clicked on links. Allnurses must have been there! I registered on-the-spot and now come here several times a day!:)
