And the problem, for me, is that I LIKE the controversial threads. All those threads that keep the mods busy: I'm normally right in the mix. But, I know where the lines are. :saint: :saint: (sing song that like na nah na nah na na).~faith,Timothy.

LOL, I think I'll stay away from the controversial threads for fear of being misunderstood, or worse.

You know Leahjet that thread has caused me no end of problems, I had so many PM's some saying 'Great it should have been closed earlier' and some saying "I'm not happy you closed that thread'
Oh, I wasn't referring to the closing of that particular thread.... I was just using that one as an example of a Mod coming back and actually updating on whether a thread would be reopened or not.
But I must admit, I am like others in that I do enjoy a somewhat heated debate. Usually I am just a 'bystander' but I do learn from them. If everyone agreed and everyone was 100% diplomatic 100% of the time...well, it would be kinda boring.
~wondering which Mod will close this thread d/t getting off topic...:)
just kidding guys, as I said before, ya'll do a great job!

I dont know about others but I am enjoying recieving feedback on what i do right or wrong in my job as a mod, it is really important for me to improve and to make sure I am not spoiling the enjoyment of this web site, as I learn daily from here Like I am sure most of us do.
This thread is a good way to look at ourselves constructively, and learn. I know we all get PM's when posters are pleased with us or cross with us, and I know from my own experience that I get more of the former than the latter, of course:saint: no only joking I am certainly NO angel, the thought of that makes me :rotfl: you only have to ask the UK nurses, what they have to put up with me at times. Oh I'm off topic:monkeydance:

I'm loving this thread - even if it's going slightly adrift of the topic!
I just wanted to say that I love this forum -it may not be perfect in every way but what in life is?
I get support, advice, laughter & tears from the various posts. I sometimes agree & sometimes I don't. Somtimes I think that people are way too sensitive about what is being said & sometimes I want to cheer at the computer screen about their replies!
So thank you to all the mods for helping this site to be the best place on the web for those connected with the nursing profession. I truly appreciate all your efforts!

A natural friendly off-topic is o.k. with me. Usually when things stray back into the "forbidden topics" like "..........well if everyone had a BSN this wouldn't be an issue....." is when we scream to get back on topic.
I whole heartedly agree with that this sight would be horribly boring if we all agreed. But wouldn't it be great if when we disagree we can somehow communicate that disagreement by disagreeing with the ideas and not flaming the individual and by allowing them to be who they are with their own thoughts and ideas as crazy as they are? It's an art unfortunately not everyone who registers here has. As much as we want to say..........."you stupid arrogant SOB, you are wrong wrong and more wrong.........", we just can't.
I'm with you guys who love the hot topics. I can't tell you how many times I've been one of those "dang.........just when it's getting good they close it." There have been a few times a thread was being closed while I was typing a long response only to not be able to get my last two cents in.........grrrrr. :monkeydance:

Another good hot topic is 'Importing milions and trillions of foreign nurses into the country'-thats always a good debate. I have to tie my hands behind my back and use a fire extinugisher on the key board becasue I am typing too fast..........................then I remember I am moderator and I am sure a few of those expressions may get me banned
:rotfl: I'm no mod but I don't trust myself to reply well to that topic either, I usually steer well clear!

I think a BSN should be a mandatory entry to practice for Moderators. What do y'all think? :trout: :monkeydance: :smackingf
