Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

I asked my counselor for it and she was able to show me. Because these hospitals want your nursing GPA to be the 3.0 not your cumulative. So when they ask like "is your Nursing GPA above a 3.0" for their requirements that's what they're talking about - not the one on your transcript

Anyone know how many apply to Houston Methodist and Memorial Hermann versus how many they actually hire?

The residency coordinator for both CMHH and MH TMC said that they can get over 1000+ applicants ??. As far as methodist TMC and the satellite hospitals for both MH and methodist I’m not sure.

I had emailed the general program email and they replied and stated “After registration closes we will review and notify those that will move forward to prescreen and the leadership if you advance beyond prescreen.”

their application closes on the 15th so I’m assuming they don’t even look at them until after then.

Kind of irked that memorial hermann talked for like two hours about their units and then aren't even hiring in most of them... not even adult ED

What units ARE they hiring for? I couldn’t make it today because of clinical

I last year Houston Methodist Summer cohort heard back about their first interviews around February 25th @Dresee
