Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

For memorial city they are hiring 23 new grads total. 2 ED, 1 Observation, 3 OR, 2 L&D. They are also hiring cardiac med surg tele, general med surg, and a few more I didn't get the exact numbers for. No ICU openings for this cohort.

They will list the units that are open on the application when we apply on the 14th.

I also heard that they have a pediatric ED at memorial city that should be hiring this cohort. Did they mention that?

They said they aren't hiring for any Pedi areas for this cohort

If I feel like my chances are low at getting into MH TMC.. should I just apply to two satellite hospitals or is that not a smart move?

I’m so stressed I don’t even know what to do LOL getting a job seems like a fantasy at this point

Think positive. You should apply to many hospitals. I know past seniors who did 30 applications and only got 5 offers. Do as many as you can.

I'm not sure what other hospitals to look at besides MH, HM, HCA, MD Anderson, Harris Health, and St. Lukes

I was honestly thinking the same thing..... but then the only positions I want are at the TMC, so I really don’t have choice but to try

Does anybody have any info on St. Joe’s med center nurse residency?

Anyone know if MH’s application is up yet? I’m looking on the nurse residency info page and don’t see anything.
