I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.
I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

The instructions say to send "GN Permit or RN license from the state of TX prior to beginning employment" do they want us to be licensed before we even apply? If somebody could clear this up that would be great. Thanks!
they mean before the cohort start date. you can apply.

I tried applying and they ask are you licensed, have you graduated, etc as a screening. & If you say no it’s going to tell you you don’t meet the requirements. I talked to someone who work there and they told me to apply once I pass NCLEX.

Makes sense. I just talked to someone in the recruitment office and those applications are not for us. They are specifically for Winter 2020 graduates. There is no specific date when applications could be posted for Spring 2021 graduates, but she did say that it could be closer to May or June. So keep in mind if you want to work for MD Anderson we could be applying a little before or after we take NCLEX.

I think you mean pre-match day, which I'm honestly not sure. To me it seems more like an informal informational session where each hospital tells you about which units are hiring and such. I could be wrong but thats what it seems like? I'm not sure if I need to dress up and get on the camera or if we can just listen in. I'm trying to find more information or see if anyone posted anything from previous cohorts but I can't really find anything.
