Home from the NCLEX. Done in 75

Published

I think I did ok. The questions were..... weird. Not obscenely hard, but definitely made you look for what was the BEST answer lol.

I had 75 questions. Around HALF were SATA. No joke. In the first 10 Q's, 8 were SATA. 2 basic math Q's, a lot of meds, but mainly priority (who will you see or call first) and precaution (droplet, airborn, contact, etc) Q's. I finished just under an hour and a half and took one break for 5 minutes.

I'll be calling the BON all day on Monday which also happens to be my first day of work!

hey :)

Crunchymom--

I just finished this afternoon as well, and I think you summed it up well when you said the questions were "weird." I expected to leave the testing center either feeling like a complete moron or that I had done well, but actually I just left with a numb feeling. I also completed 75 questions, but I have no idea how I did! I didn't have any math questions but lots of infection control, legal issues, and "who would you see first" type questions. The infection control ones were harder than I expected them to be. Seems odd that those would throw me for a loop like they did! I also had a lot of medications that I had never heard of, and was not even able to guess based on the generic drug names (you know, -olol, -pril, -ide). Good luck to you--sit back and enjoy your weekend--you'll have the results soon!

hi, i am new in this site, and i think it's a great site! i've been reading threads here the past weeks and it is such an inspiration to hear people's stories since i can relate to each and every one of you.

just wanted to comment, that i took the nclex rn yesterday and got the same test like yours! i came out feeling just weird! i ended with 75 questions. i had one math, tons of prioritization, meds, infection control. i think about 40% of the test was on satas. it was not easy since i had to think each answer, it was hard to eliminate..have to critically think about each option. i am in ca so i do not know when i will ever get my result, hopefully by tuesday or so...but i am freaking out! i need to pass since i got hired in my dream job! i barely have any energy to do anything. all i can do is think about the test and check out posts here for support. well good luck to you, hope you pass and i'm crossing my fingers as well...

Yeah I just took it today and feel horrible about it simply because of how it started out.

9 select all that apply before hitting question 18...talk about a quick slap in the face. By the end of the test I had 17 out of 75 that were SATA. Seeing as how I do the absolute worst on these, I'm not too optimistic.

Overall had three math questions, and yeah I got a bunch of medications that I had never heard of before and couldn't discern from the generic name.

Was most worried because on a couple of "who would you see first", nobody really looked that be in THAT bad of shape...which then gets me concerned with what I'm missing.

Overall I'd have to say it was a horrible experience, and I'm really worried that it cut off at 75, because if I do fail, that means I bombed hard. I would feel much better about it all if I had at least made it to 200 questions or so.

Oh well, nothing I can do about it now. I'll just have to wait and see.

I'll be calling the BON all day on Monday which also happens to be my first day of work!

The CT BON won't be entering any info on new licenses until Monday which means you won't see it on line until the earliest Tuesday because they only update the site once a day and thats usually first thing in the morning. They still aren't showing licenses that were entered on Friday because it wasn't updated yet, Fridays entered licenses will probably show on Monday.

You can't get your results until Monday from PearsonVue Quick Results. And since the CT BON will get the same results on Monday (maybe Tuesday) they'll tell you they don't have the info yet.

Their website says calling the Board directly will get you the same answer that their website shows. If its not showing you online, they will tell you the same thing. They won't tell you if you passed or failed.

This is what it reads today (Saturday July 12th) This listing includes all active and inactive licenses as of Thursday, July 10, 2008. The file is updated each business day. The information provided on this web page is the same information that this office would provide in response to written or verbal requests for verification.

I'm sure you did well, just try to tough it out for the next two days. I know its easier said than done, but no sense in driving yourself crazy LOL

Yes, correct that the won't update online until Tuesday (actually more likely Wednesday for a Saturday test) but you can call and they will tell you on the phone. Several of my friends took the NCLEX RN last Saturday and all of them had their results by calling the BON by Monday afternoon. You just have to be pushy lol.

Thanks for all the well wishes. After talking to my friends who passed, I feel pretty good about how I did. :)
