I think I did ok. The questions were..... weird. Not obscenely hard, but definitely made you look for what was the BEST answer lol.

I had 75 questions. Around HALF were SATA. No joke. In the first 10 Q's, 8 were SATA. 2 basic math Q's, a lot of meds, but mainly priority (who will you see or call first) and precaution (droplet, airborn, contact, etc) Q's. I finished just under an hour and a half and took one break for 5 minutes.

I'll be calling the BON all day on Monday which also happens to be my first day of work!

Well they aren't basic infection control like what gear to wear in this situation.

You're given, for example, a bunch of diseases and need to know how each on transmits. Other ones are you have a patient with this, who do you room them with, that sort of thing. If you used a Qbank or other such program that throws a bunch of NCLEX questions at you, you can expect them to be like the harder ones you have faced.

Specializes in Finally an RN!.
i wish you goodluck!

what makes the infection control hard? i'm testing on tuesday, july 15 and i only know the very basic about infection control like what precaution to take on certain diseases..what else do i need to know about it? thanks!

Cosper123 nailed it--basic infection control was not covered, it was more about specific diseases, specific protective equipment for those diseases and isolation appropriateness. Those were the hardest questions! I had no idea there would be so many disease-specific questions! :banghead: At this point, all I can do is wait...and pray...

As a good friend of mine alway says, "it is what it is..."

Good luck!!

It is what it is....and that's all that there is.

:D

Yes! The infection control questions were difficult! You were given 4 patients and had to figure out which staff member was correct (something like someone wearing a mask with a TB patient, gloves with a rubella patient, gown with a MRSA patient, and goggles with a meningitis patient). They're difficult mostly because I had a hard time looking at them for what they were. You have to look at each disease and figure out what precautions are covered and if that one single item covered constitutes that precaution.
