Anyone here get a holiday bonus from their company? Or are those a thing of the past?

Specializes in Home Health, PDN, LTC, subacute.

Got a huge bonus $2500, CEO gave 20 million to employees this year

One year it was a choice of turkey, ham, or fruit basket that we were supposed to pick up at work on a specific date. Instructions were sent to our work email that we can only access at work. Of course it was sent while I was off and handed out before I returned so I also saw the email for the last day to pick up at the same time...after they were done....oh, well. It's the thought anyway....

Specializes in NICU.

In my over 30 plus years never received a bonus nor anyone else iI know, back in the day a can of nuts or jar of jam with good wishes, felt really nice for the appreciation. Birthday card with free lunch......Past 20 years zero...a so called employee lunch celebration hot dogs and burgers until I found out the MDs could have steak instead...different menu for the Elite.

a so called employee lunch celebration hot dogs and burgers.

The perfect food to help generate future revenue. I'm sure the private room for being a current employee is no longer a common 'spiff' either.

Specializes in Psych, Addictions, SOL (Student of Life).

I might add that except for the gift card our facility didn't do diddly squat for us. If it hadn't been for the Docs who brought in the pizza one day and the Taco Lady truck another day we wouldn't even have had a free lunch.

Specializes in kids.
Right?!?!!?

But, as School nurses, we are off till Jan 2....so there is that!!!

Sadly those who are paid hourly vs contract, are not making out so well and that stinks.

Specializes in Cardiac, Progressive Care.

We get bi-annual bonuses based off our press ganey scores. Maybe about $200 each or so. Everywhere else I've worked we never got a bonus.

Specializes in Primary Care, LTC, Private Duty.

I got more of a Christmas bonus working as a per diem CNA (albeit at a different company) than I ever have as a full-time RN. :sniff:

Edited to add: Though, with one nursing job, I *did* get a foldable chair on Christmas...branded just about everywhere with the company's logo of course!

Specializes in Pediatric Critical Care.

We got two - thats right folks, TWO - emails wishing the staff a happy holiday season. So there.

One even had an image of the CEO's signature.

Don't be jelly.
