Anyone here get a holiday bonus from their company? Or are those a thing of the past?
My first year in nursing back in 2011, I got a nominal $500 bonus. But it at least showed that they cared. It made me feel just a bit more valued. Since then, the only thing I've received is some poinsettias. For the past 3 years, it's been nothing.
$500 is nominal? I got $200 and was grateful for every last dollar. I also love my job, so this was TRUELY a bonus.
Everyone gets a token amount of cash, barely enough to buy a tank of gas with. That said, the managers, supervisors, etc., get treated special. They get larger cash gifts than we peons. They used to get treated to a retreat, but I guess that went by the wayside. I just think that we all work here, we all contribute to the place, and they shouldn't treat us all differently. Pittance for the worker bees, but bonuses and gifts for the middle management.

We used to get real turkeys, then if was WalMart gift cards, then it was $15.00 added to our paycheck (which was taxed)... some of the physicians would give us gifts or cash bonuses but the hospital told them that was illegal under federal law (can't remember which one right this second), told us they would fire us if we were caught accepting them....
