Anyone here get a holiday bonus from their company? Or are those a thing of the past?

Anyone here get a holiday bonus from their company? Or are those a thing of the past?

I've been a nurse since the late 70s, and I've never received a holiday bonus. We used to get turkeys or gift cards to the grocery store, but it's been a long time since I got even that.

My first year in nursing back in 2011, I got a nominal $500 bonus. But it at least showed that they cared. It made me feel just a bit more valued. Since then, the only thing I've received is some poinsettias. For the past 3 years, it's been nothing.

Yes, I got a $500 bonus. The company looks at it every year and decides how much they can "afford" based on your PT/FT status. Someone said it's actually about their tax liability and to give us a bonus at the end of the year decreases their tax liability. I really don't care.. anything is better then the nothing I've gotten from other companies.

I work for a non-profit, everyone in the company gets quarterly bonuses and the last of the year is quite large. I try hard to remember this on those "full moon madness but it's broad daylight" days :)

We get a bonus at the end of the year instead of a raise. Full time gets one amount and part time gets another. It's the same amounts for each depending on full time or part time, and has nothing to do with performance. Not individualized.

At other places I've worked, we got some sort of "token" such as a 4 piece See's candy box or a cheap, plastic drink cup with the hospital logo....and, if you weren't around on the shift they were passing them out on, you didn't get anything at all.

A whopping $0 is what we're getting this year, on top of $0 raise. Worked in healthcare for 4 years now and the most I got was maybe a $25 gift card.

Missing the days when I used to get $12k-$16k (top $18k) annual bonus plus a pension contribution that was 20% of my salary+bonus. I wasn't even a revenue generator.

The last holiday bonus I got was three years ago ...1000 cash, and two 100 grocery store gift certificates.

My bonus this year was $1750. Sorry for those who get a little of nothing.

I think every work place should have a nice holiday bonus even if it means reducing your hourly pay.

They could pay .25 less/hour, then give it at the end of the year as a $500 holiday bonus - none would be the wiser, lots of happy people.

No bonus ever.

turkey at TG, ham or turkey for Christmas, plus $25 gift card to grocery for each of these holidays from one employer. Others gave nothing, no extra pay for working the major holidays.

Cheap trinkets for Nurses' Day or Nurses' Week, which has now become health care workers' Week. And all festivities were usually on Days. Although nurses on 3-11 or graves did get a free meal one day during the week.

water bottle (which we could not keep on our med carts, per OSHA, and there was no real chance to leave the work area. I refused to be ridiculously thirsty, so did keep mine with me. Fooey on all that malarkey.)

I didn't actually do the math, but this sounds kind of silly to me. Sorry.
