These are the types of moral conflicts, If you could take 10 minutes of your time and answer the 5 questions below it would GREATLY help me write my paper in Nursing Ethics class!
moral uncertainty-Sense a moral problem exists but unsure what values or principles apply or what the problem is.
moral dilemma-State in which two or more values or principles are applicable but support mutually exclusive courses of action.
moral distress -State in which one is clear as to the right choice but external constraints make one unable to act in accord with that choice.
moral outrage-Situation in which another person engages in an action the nurse believes to be morally wrong. (The nurse is not involved in the situation)
1.Your Name, and type of nurse
2. Please describe an ethical conflict situation in nursing practice that you have encountered.
3. How did you deal with that ethical conflict?how it was resolved? and what personal values were involved?
4. Were you satisfied with how the ethical conflict was resolved?
5. Did you refer to the Code of Ethics for Nurses in dealing with the conflict?

Here's a question for you. Are you supposed to interview a nurse or come up with your own ethical dilemma. You can do what I'm sure the a lot of us did in school...make it up. Tell the professors what they want to hear. Good luck.

I did this same assignment in an ethics class for pre-reqs. I had no problem making it all up myself.

Didn't we just do this? I seem to remember being chastised in this thread for seconding the suggestion of looking in nursing journals.

Ethical dilemma
Do a nursing student's homework on allnurses.com or suggest she go and do the interview the way her instructor asked her to. I am an instructor and if I made out an assignment to interview a nurse, I would hope that nurse would actually be interviewed.
Ah, so both of you are a bunch of slackers! :)

rofl at this. Not only at the OP but the suggestions to make up the whole paper. I know this is not the exact definition of Irony, but this is certainly in the arena.
Also a little sad and telling.

Moving this to Nursing Student Assistance forum with a word to the wise: please do the assignments the way you are requested to do them. Nursing school isn't meant to be easy.....otherwise it wouldn't be very good preparation for real life.

I once was talking with a classmate. She told me that she made up anything and everything that she put forth to the instructors and enjoyed the high grades they gave her to tell them what they wanted to hear.
No, i am supposed to interview a nurse, by telephone,e-mail, or in person then use her ethical dilema and apply it to the concepts i'm learning in class. then determine if I agree with the nurse on her decision and if not then explain what i would have done differently in the given situation. So if you are a nurse and have witnesses or experienced an ethical dilema in your hospital and can give answer my questions it would be helpful, if not then don't comment on my post.
How do you know any of us are actually nurses? I don't think a bunch of strangers on the internet are the best pool from which to draw your interview.
