I am curious if anyone has ever gotten in trouble at work about something they have posted here. I have not gotten into any trouble. Of course, I don't use my real name so I think that helps. Thanks.
I recently had a coworker see a lot of herself in another poster's comment. She has seen me reading things on AN and assumed that I had posted the comment about her! She actually went to management and complained, but since it wasn't my post, they just told me to be careful about what sites I visit when I am on break.
LOL...I am pretty careful not to log on when I am at work and I took out all of the details on my profile, like my gender, birthdate, etc.
I also change a few details about what I post...like the gender of the patient, the gender of coworkers, and I try not to say things like, "Last night at work..."
I don't want to post the details, but a few months ago I made a post on the internet that I was 100% did not violate our social networking policy...it did not mention a person's name nor a specific hospital situation, nor a date of an event, but I did make a very vague reference to it being a difficult day...keep in mind I have on my info that I am a NICU nurse and my hospital, which is ONLY available to a few close friends, no celebrity pages, etc.
Now, while I never heard anything, our employer informed us last month that another employee in another department was FIRED for posting something on the internet only a slight variation from what I posted.
That was the last time I ever..EVER posted anything even remotely associated with work...I let someone else be the leson for me.

No, because even though I don't use my real name and minimize any identifying details, I behave myself as though everyone knows who I really am. Because in my experience, people online are not as anonymous as we'd like to think we are.
In short, I don't post anything on here--or Facebook or anywhere else for that matter--that I wouldn't own up to saying to someone in person.

I've never got in trouble for anything I've posted. But I don't recall really talking badly about my place of employment in specifics. Then again, I don't even mention I know about AN.
I did have a former co-worker say "hey, are you XXX on AN? I was reading it and it sounded a lot like you" It wasn't me she was speaking of but it made me realize how easily someone can figure things out given enough info and that yes, I did have co-workers who were on AN. So now I tend to keep my questions/comments here vague enough that I can't be ID'd by co-workers.
And for what its worth, I NEVER post anything good/bad or otherwise on my Facebook..ever. Nothing more than, busy shift yesterday..recouping for it today..or RIP ABC, you'll be missed. (I never put the persons name just Ms A or Mr B)
