Has anyone been in trouble at work over what they posted in allnurses.com

Published

I am curious if anyone has ever gotten in trouble at work about something they have posted here. I have not gotten into any trouble. Of course, I don't use my real name so I think that helps.:lol2: Thanks.

don't surf the net at work on a work computer, period. it will be seen and traced. the only defensible reason is to look up a drug, proceedure or technique.

thanks for the advise. will procede with caution.

I have no problem talking about AN.com to my co-workers or anybody else, for that matter, including my Supervisor. We regularly do mandatory inservices and tests online anyway. AN.com is viewed as professional enhancement by my Superiors. And I really sing the praises of AN.com for its participants sharing information and experiences. I know of at least one Supervisor and a couple of Co-workers who are are mildly involved with AN.com.

The policy where I work states that "Responsible, incidental personal use of email and internet facilities is acceptable, provided that it does not interfere with the employee's job responsibilities, impedes the use of access for legitimate business purposes, or violates this or any other policy."

I am very careful of what I post about whom or what. On AN.com, I generally deal with objective facts that would be difficult to misinterpret, and never never never give any identifying information on anybody that could lead to a specific Individual.

Now, on AN-Central, it's a different story, as far as the facts go, it's a matter of conjecture, confabulation, and poetic license. AN-central is for entertainment purposes, but still, an Individual's true identity is respected. And, once again, the site is viewed as a means of professional enhancement.
