Halloween party anyone? If you could get dressed up as anything/anyone what would it be? What are your expectations for this Halloween?
Please comment if you like ?
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. The wife (religious side) - not so much.
Are you decorating for Halloween?
Any tips for making a carved pumpkin last longer than a few days? My pumpkin now looks like an old man without teeth...

Oh, poor guy! He looks like he’s lost his dentures ☹️ Hmm… Maybe the mouth is cut a bit too wide and combined with the large eyes, I think the structural integrity might have been compromised. Next year, go for a mouth that’s no more than 60˚ in width and aim for small beady eyes ? Or move to Scandinavia ? Come Halloween, it’s often below freezing and the pumpkins are frozen solid and therefore retain their shapes. Nice effort though ?? I always appreciate when my neighbors take the time to carve a ? It looks festive and brightens the gloomy autumn days.
The last Halloween party I attended was in 2019. I’m 6’1” and have long almost white blonde hair and lightblue eyes. If I don’t smile, I look like an ice-cold serial killer. (When I smile I kinda look like a crazed assassin ? so that doesn’t really help…). I went as Morticia Addams. With a long black dress and lots of white face powder on, I looked sufficiently scary to make two kids cry. That part wasn’t all that great, but the party definitely was ?
This year will be a more quiet affair. I plan to spend it with my siblings and eat good food, drink good wine and play LOTS of board games. Happy Halloween to you Joe! And the rest of the AN folks!

I don't knowww?
He looks plenty scary to me!
He needs to be on the porch with some lit candles in the eye sockets and a Freddie Kruger hat on.
Love Halloween too ???! Ghosties and Ghouls and Mummys. I can always get away with Frankenstein because of the size thing!
And I love hearing the neighborhood kids scream ??.
Yeah, we go all out at my parents and scare the bejesus out of the kids!
Happy Haunting ??

I'm religious myself (Assemblies of God) so I don't decorate for Halloween anything more extreme than a Jack-O-Lantern. I haven't had time to mess with it this year though. Usually I don't put out a Jack-O-Lantern until close to halloween. Fall decor before that!

No decorating here. I usually work, and it's my Saturday to work this year-when my small town has trick-or-treating, as usual. They encourage us to dress up at the clinic, but with the gown and other PPE, it's never made sense. With the blood aspect, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I plan to work, then come home and rest

I like to have a horror movie night with family around the holiday. I like to watch the old favorites like Halloween, Friday the 13th, Scream and such. My kids are all adults so it usually is a lot fun, but I have had to do it alone a couple times and ended up scaring the crap out of myself ?

I thought I was the only person who ever did that. LOL!
Thank you everyone! I do hope everyone has a safe Halloween this year.

I'll put that on my bucket list and looking forward to carving a great pumpkin. I'll let you know if it collapses. ?

It was all lit up which until he know longer looked scary. A jack-O-Lantern with dentures just didn't cut it for me. ?

I've done the intricate pumpkins but I will still have this problem. Soaking it overnight in water helps plump them back up. They do mold faster that way so I wait to carve them the week of Halloween.
