Katherine Heigl designs scrubs for nurses:
http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7007708652
What do you think?
The stunning actress, who plays intern Izzy on the show, says she is working with the health-care collection to help nurses feel better about themselves.
Ah....and the concept of working with the TV program writers to stop the demeaning nurse characterizations on Gregy's Anatomy was far too simple and inexpensive an idea?
I don't need either to make me feel better about myself. I kinda like me. :) But I'd surely feel better about flipping on a certain TV show if THAT didn't belittle me!
They way they make it sound Katherine Heigl will change the world with her line of scrubs.
I don't watch that show and I don't know who she is, but nothing annoys me more than self-absorbed celebrities who are so in love with themselves they actually think they are doing the "little people" favors with their shameless self promotion and self-flattery. She is designing clothes to make these frumpy dumpy nobody nurses feel "better" about themselves... how touching.
Spare me.
Oh, for crying out loud, people... they are scrubs!!!
Not world peace. Not a cure for cancer or hunger or the ozone.
Scrubs.
How on earth is this any different from any other person who slaps their name on a pair of jeans or a dress or shoes?
And I don't recall her referring to consumers as the "little people" and the "frumpy dumpy nobody nurses". What a horrible self image.
It's comical that someone could get so agitated because a TV actress wants to design scrubs. Geesh.
I'm sure the scrubs will sell...the link didn't work for me so I didn't see what they are going to look like, but there's really only so much you can do with scrubs.
She's capitalizing on her fame. It wouldn't make sense for, say, Teri Hatcher (she's on Desperate Housewives, right??) to make scrubs, because she is not on a medical show. Katherine Heigl can because she is on Gray's, which I have only seen a few times, and I am not in love with. I have friends and family who adore it and watch every episode, but really, I'm over it. If she was really trying to help nurses, she would make them more affordable! I don't even like how expensive the discount scrubs are! You go to meijer and the cheapest top is $17! I don't want to spend 2 hours salary on a pair of scrubs to wear to work and get splashed with various gross things! That's one main reason why I won't buy anything "designer" to wear to work!
This is a quote from the end of the article.
"Katherine is a role model for many women, especially in the healthcare industry. It's only natural for them to want to emulate her style."
What has she done for the health care industry that I would look at her as a role model? She is an actress on a show that does not even portray the medical field realisticly, especially the nurses for which the scrubs will be mostly marketed towards.
Anyways, Im not going to get upset about it. Its nice to have options out there for scrubs, but that quote annoyed me.

Thanks for the link! The stuff is ok, but I'm very picky. I usually only wear solids like ceil blue or navy to work so I don't see myself going out and buying it because it has her name on it.
