Grady RN Residency - Summer 2020

Published

Hi everyone! Is anyone else in the process of applying to Grady Memorial’s RN residency program that’s set to start this August?

I may be impatient (?!) but I applied a little over a week ago and have yet to hear back.

Has anyone heard anything back? Or for anyone who went through the process for Winter 2020, how long did it take you to hear back?

Since not everyone got the email, I’m wondering if this is a good thing. I’ve never had to set up an appointment for feedback for jobs that I’ve received offers for. This is weird. ?

Exactly, me neither. So I'm not sure how to feel about this. But clearly they made their decisions.

I’ve never heard that before... but the Human Resources emailed me

today about updating my offer so I’m regards today you guys, they are still doing multiple interviews and reviews. So much so that I can no longer email her and was advised to text her because she may not see the email. So they probably have a lot to consider here. I say if you didn’t get the email don’t be too worried. On a positive note it could be that they absolutely consider you Or don’t have anything bad to say. On a negative note of course there may be some that they absolutely do not consider. Is there no update on your status?

Pre-employment was busy and there’s a lot of nurses from staffing agencies. Unfortunately Coronavirus has made this whole situation foreign. Nurse externs are suppose to be in the Summer and I start next Monday so everything is weird.

This honestly sounds like a GOOD thing to me. I don’t know why they’d spent another 15 minutes on an applicant if they already decided they weren’t going to extend an offer!

Unfortunately I’ve received no emails ? I was hoping for good news, but we’ll just see!

Will you keep us updated?

Do you know what the starting pay is for CVICU?

So all residents start off at 24.86 before diff. After you finish the first year, residents in a specialty get an $8 raise. Residents is med/surg also get a raise but it is less. I'm not sure how much they get

TBH if she contacted HR and said she really wants to work for Grady, they would probably hook her up with a job on another med surge floor.

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd share some info because if I was in your position I would hope someone would do the same! I received the email today as well asking to schedule a meeting for next week. I emailed the recruiter back saying that I accepted another position at a different hospital and that I was no longer interested. The recruiter emailed me back saying that she was "sorry that I am not going to be joining their team", meaning she was going to offer me a job. So, I think everyone who got an email is getting an offer! Though, there's an extra spot for someone else now that I am no longer in the running! Hope this helps!

Awesome! That is excellent news for those who received the email, then. I’m sad I wasn’t one of them!

Thank you for sharing this info! It is definitely appreciated. By no means do you have to answer - but can I ask which dept it was for?
