TBH if she contacted HR and said she really wants to work for Grady, they would probably hook her up with a job on another med surge floor.

So all residents start off at 24.86 before diff. After you finish the first year, residents in a specialty get an $8 raise. Residents is med/surg also get a raise but it is less. I'm not sure how much they get Hmm thats new. I didn't have to do that. Good luck!

You will get to self schedule, but not until you get off orientation. Also, you have to work every other weekend, which kind of stinks ? No student loan forgiveness, but you do get tuition assistance if you want to get back to school.

Residency was pretty awesome. We had these rotations that were kinda like clinicals where we sort of shadow various areas in the hospital. It was very informative and helpful. We also meet up atleast once a month which is nice because our residency coordinator wants to ensure that things on the floor are going OK. I like my coworkers, but that factor depends on a couple of things. Make sure you are friendly, always say "hello" when you walk into a room, and just show that you are there to learn. IDK anyone who didn't get an offer.
