I thought it would be cool to start a thread for all that are graduating in 2011. I finish in October and have to wait for graduation in December. I would love to hear everyone's plan after they finish school. What field of nursing are they going into, do you already have jobs lined up etc.

Specializes in Psych.

Graduated in May, passed NCLEX in June, Start new job Sept 12th in Psych.

I graduated in July and take boards in Sept. I currently work as a CNA in a nursing home. I have the option to stay at the nursing home as an RN and work on a cart. I would prefer to work in a hospital on a med/surg floor. But i will take whatever. I plan on going back to school in Jan. to take 3 classes that are prereqs for a RN to BSN program that will take one year to complete!

Graduated May 2011 passed boards July 1st hired in ER July 14 HOOT !!!:nurse:

I graduate in December 2011. I just left my nursing externship position and hoping I didn't shoot myself in the foot as I am now VERY nervous about not being able to find a job after graduation.

Aw. Why did you leave ? If you don't mind me asking. I'm sure you will be able to find something. ;)

I left because the drive from my house to my hospital was 1.5 hours away and when we hit this Colorado winter, it's going to be a bear to get to that hospital, if I even can. I kind of treated it like a summer externship (from March - August). Which did give me a lot of experience working in a hospital setting (more so than some of my classmates). And I did leave on very good terms, so I guess if worse comes to worse, I can call my Director and beg for a job and move closer. I'm going to PRAY that I will find a job closer to home though! And I am going to beg some of the faculty of my school to give me a great word! We'll see!

Graduated in May, passed NCLEX July. Took the summer off to spend with my kids...I'm one of those crazy people that managed to get pregnant during school & had my baby just before spring break of the last semester. Now ready to get to work! Hoping for something in acute care, but may have to expand my applications to include ltc, office positions...

Graduated May 6th, moved 350 miles west for a job I started on August 22, and passed the NCLEX August 29th.
