  1. Congrats!! One of THE best feelings ever right?!
  2. Damn that really sucks for the rest of us who didn't get called =( For those of you who applied, do you have an ASN or BSN?
  3. I haven't heard anything...The last generic message I received from HR was they'll start initial rounds of screening late September (exactly when cause its almost Oct already!) and if you haven't received anything by late Oct most likely will end up getting a generic rejection email. I have been checking the status of my application online every single day but still says "application received: documents not yet retrieved." so disappointing!
  4. Nope.. I don't know if you tried emailing the recruiters but the default message I received about 1.5 weeks ago said they're in the process of reviewing over 700 applicants and their goal to complete the initial round of phone interview/screening is by the end of Sept. If you don't get a call then you will receive an automated rejection email in Oct. Keep posted! Good Luck
  5. I would be interested in taking the survey, although the link you provided doesn't take me there. It says "thanks for completing the survery" and I'm not sure if I have to be a member of NSNA to take the survey?
  6. I am just curious about all the responses--where are you guys from? I graduated May of this year with an ADN and have been applying endlessly for jobs and no luck. How did you guys do it? Don't get me wrong I am happy for those of you that landed a job soon after graduation. It also gives me hope that an ADN WILL get me a job!] Btw, I am from Northern CA. Where you guys are....any hospitals hiring new grads with no experience??
  7. Thank you for sharing your story! I am a new grad nurse still trying to look for work...I hope one day when I do find THAT job (and hopefully its soon!) I can use your story to help me get thru it. Thanks!
  8. Congrats on landing a job and thank you for the tips! Best wishes to you
  9. @ Nursing12345 I wasn't sure if you were directing your ? to my post. I am from California- the bay area. The job market here suck big time! Its very difficult for a new grad to get a job....=/
  10. Hi all, Is anyone still looking at resumes and giving suggestions? I recently graduated and have applied to various places but its a no go. Im thinking 1) im a new grad ad/or 2) my resume is not up to par. Please let me know, thanks!
  11. I am from Northern Cali--the job market here is freaken tough! I graduated in May 2011 and passed boards in June. I have been endlessly applying for jobs and have gotten nothing but rejection letters/emails. Ive also applied to CNA/tech positions but its also a no go (been told they fear we'll not stick around long enough). It is very discouraging. We all worked super hard in nursing school to get to this point (and imo NO ONE outside of nursing will understand this!!) Its not like we DON'T/WON'T know what to do....geezus if only we're given a chance to prove we CAN do the job and do so safely. Sorry I am ranting off here I don't even know what I'm saying anymore... ANYWAY, where is everyone from (geographic location)??
  12. Hey guys...I am in the same boat! I have applied to various positions and new grad programs as well....received plenty of rejection letters/emails and still waiting on some. It is very discouraging I almost feel like I've run out of ideas on where to look/search for jobs! BUT...... Theres always a light at the end of the tunnel! We just need to keep our heads up and continue to think positive =)
  13. Graduated from an ADN program in May 2011, passed boards in June. currently looking for jobs....its terrible =(
  14. Made me smile as well. Thanks for sharing a positive story!
  15. I recently took my board exam and passed in June. My license says Exp: 11/12 and I wondered why too. Its because my bday is not until October. Unless your bday has passed the license will expire the month after your bday of the following year. Then it will be every 2 years after that. I thought I was getting jipped!
