2009 Grads! Come 1 Come ALL!

Published

I thought it would be nice to have a 2009 Grad Thread we can share are joys, fears, stories (hippa permitting) Just to relieve the stress.

I am a 25 y.o. wife and mother of 3 girls ages 7,5 and 1. I have been in the medical field since 2001, but took all Allied health classes in high school. I am in my first of four semesters, doing the evening program, lasting 15 months.

Right now I am not really doing any core nursing classes, just A&P, nutrition and nurs 110 which is basically a 'history of nursing' class.

I was a paramedic, I have a degree in medical office management and STNA. I have taken the long route into nursing but finally feel I have found the right path. I graduate in July of 2009 and plan on entering ADN in Aug of 2009.

Come join me!!

I'm in a hospital program. They agree to pay the tuition (not books and uniforms) if you agree to work for them for 2 years. Not too bad of a deal, especially since they also have an RN program with an easy bridge system. :)

wow that's really nice! How long is the programs?

Specializes in long term care, nursing home.

hello all! i am 22, long time relationship, no kids, and may 08 grad w/ my associate in arts. i work as a cna at a nursing home and am absolutely in love with the nursing field! i just got my acceptance letter yesterday! i start in august and graduate in june 09. i'm am soooo excited and eager to attend the lpn program. i have been to 2 junior colleges and 1 university and after not being accepted to neither nursing program, i decided to do lpn school so that i can work and then take the bridge to obtain my rn or bsn. i almost gave up hope after i figured that nursing was such a competitive field but god led me thru it. i took the entrance test and i failed by 1 percent in math and a high score in reading. i cried when i got the rejection letter but after encouragement from my boyfriend, i took the test again 2 days later and passed! i am so thankful, blessed and excited that i will finally be living out my dream, proving people wrong and giving my family something to be proud about! i am proof that faith works and u should always follow your dreams. good luck and keep in touch! :stdnrsrck:

The LPN program is 12 months. Then after I work as an LPN for 6 months I can get into their bridge... approx. 10 more months of school and I'll (hopefully!) graduate and be an RN! It's a cool deal. Yeah, I'm signing my life away - so to speak - to one (large) hospital system, but it's going to enable me to do so much for my family and allow me to do what I've always wanted to do. I'm really excited about it. :D

Cant wait to be a nurse!!!!!!!!!!:D

Hello Everyone,

I started the LPN program May 5. I'll be finished June 2009. Then I'm going to do a bridge program to become an RN. I can't believe I'm finishing 4 weeks. This has been a lifetime dream. I'm an army wife and mother of 2 children. I'm so excited about becoming a nurse and being able to find work anywhere my husband is sent. MeowTimesTwo that is wonderful that the hospital helps with tuition as you go through the program. I wish I were lucky enough to have a deal like that in my area.

Good Luck to everyone!

God bless you and i just know that u will be a fabulous nurse!!!!:yeah:

HI,

I am 27 yrs old & I began the LPN program in Feb. 08 at a private college. It is a 12 month program, so (hopefully) I will be a 2009 graduate! I have to say that going from a regular community college to a private one has really been challenging. We just started clinicals! Good luck to everyone!! :D
