  1. I went on 2 interviews for a hospital job one in nephrology and cardiology really want to make the change. I have been an LPN in a nursing home setting for 7 years. I don't understand why I didn't get them a job. I thought the interview went well but they went with another candidate. I talk to me RN supervisor she said she don't think it's mine. Resume because of I wouldn't have been called back. I should practice interviewing go over keep eye contact. I think my problem don't know what to say. Why do I want to change jobs? Because I need more experience I want more I'm at a standstill with my career. There's no opportunity for me in a nursing home. I feel like I not advancing forward if you could understand. I want to do more be responsible for more. Any suggestion will be appreciated thanks in advance.
  2. Hello everyone in da facility I work they use bed alarm and it gets da resident attention and yours. So ask about da bed alarm and they have chair alarms too. I hope this help u it do work and always put da bed to lowest position when you have a frequent faller. I feel you but I have learn not to wait on cna to put them to bed when I take them too there room b/c they take so long to put them down. U have to be mindful b/c u can't be everwhere and I know u feel right now that da nite nurse feel that way but u is a good nurse b/c u do feel bad that he felled.

  4. Hi, I took da pn test last thursday on 22 april i stopped at 85 just did the trick it told me to contact my board I felt really good about my test because I had JESUS!
  5. When I'm making my care plans it feels to me like I'm diagnosing instead of prognosis. Am I thinking too much or not enough from the nursing part. I had one that the Pt. had small bowel obstruction so my dx was acute pain related to inflammation that erodes the wall of intestine. How about impaired gas exchange how do you separate the dr. dx from the nurses dx. Is there a line to draw or will they meet together. How do u make a plan for a patient that don't have abc's problem the only problem is the femoral fracture that was taken care by orif procedure. They are not having no complication is this when we use potential problems.
  6. yeah:ancong!: give us that haven't got that far some tips how long did u wait before u test and what did u think help u better
  7. Hi: sorry you feel that way but I find if I stay out until the last minute and don't be around the other students that I could keep my thoughts good. Try covering the test answer and if you can think of the answer then look at the answer that seem to help me. If you get one that you really can't come up with skip and go to the next one it seems to help. You have to always stay focus so when those negative thoughts come into your mind rebuke them in the name of Jesus if you believe in him, and I can do all things in chirst which strengthen me. Stay positive I know its hard I just took 3 test friday in one day I pass two and really not sure if I pass the last one pray that I did because I really needed to pass this class. I pulled my grade up in this class, so try to take one test at a time and when you have more then one study each one but you have to split the time I just figure out you have to think positive. You we had test run like that before and I pass two and fail the last one because I thought I didn't have enough time to study and my grade showed it I got a 57 on that test but if I would had been a little positive on that test I might have did better. I was positive on the test this time I got 84 on the first on, 88 on Pharm, I'll let you know what I get on the last on next week. Your attitude is what hold us back so stay positive.

  10. Hi, I feel you because I was having the same problem but I had a nurse tell me too always think of it if something can harm a patient donot do it. Remember your abc and you have to start thinking like a nurse even if you don't know I started nursing school in May and I'm getting ready to start my second term in two days so I made through this term it was hard and I had to change my study habits. You just have to figure out whats going to work for you. Good luck and my prayers are with everyone thats on this journey.:loveya:
  11. :yeah:Hi I just wanted to update you on my progress I took my 2nd Anatomy test Tuesday and I got a 87 so I pass I change how I was studying Sunday. Well I was doing the flash cards but I wasn't recalling them good enough so I wrote my notes down 7 times each. I know thats a lot of writing but that seem to have work and I have a test next Tuesday so we will see how it goes I already started writing my notes 7 times.:clpty:I thank all of you for your help may god bless you.

  13. Ok I been in lpn school almost a month now and I got one instructor that don't give us information about whats going to be on the test. My class is Physical Assessment first test was on vital signs. First I miss my class friday so I think that was part of why I might have made what I made and the student I got notes from didn't tell me until monday that we would have a test on that and the test was tuesday, I know you cannot miss class but it was unavoidable. We have two books the book we used for this test was basic nursing by rosdahl after we took the test we could have used nursing skills and concepts by barbara timby. The instructor said we want need to used that but now since we question her on it she said we are to use independent time to go over things that she don't cover. Now she made us write out an outline of the chapter give us all 100 and tell us to study from that but the question didn't really go with the outline. My question is how do you outline a chapter and get all the information thats important and still have time or even understand the material because it seems to me even the ones that made the class still failed the highest score was an 85. I hope you understand my dilema because I really thought I know that test thought I atleast pass it. Out of 29 students 6 students pass the test. I would like to thank you in advance for your replies. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK IN YOUR CLASS.:angryfire

There's a patient where I work on the weekend who is on contact isolation and the way its setup I wanted to know:no: is it safe. We get the stuff outside the room we put on gown, gloves, and mask. When we get ready to come out the room we put it in the cans in the room is this safe to do this. Thank you in advance for the response.
