2009 Grads! Come 1 Come ALL!

Published

I thought it would be nice to have a 2009 Grad Thread we can share are joys, fears, stories (hippa permitting) Just to relieve the stress.

I am a 25 y.o. wife and mother of 3 girls ages 7,5 and 1. I have been in the medical field since 2001, but took all Allied health classes in high school. I am in my first of four semesters, doing the evening program, lasting 15 months.

Right now I am not really doing any core nursing classes, just A&P, nutrition and nurs 110 which is basically a 'history of nursing' class.

I was a paramedic, I have a degree in medical office management and STNA. I have taken the long route into nursing but finally feel I have found the right path. I graduate in July of 2009 and plan on entering ADN in Aug of 2009.

Come join me!!

I am 35 year old wife and mother of 2 girls and 1 boy. I will graduate lpn school march 25th '09. We are taking a 3 day review course to get ready for nclex. We have taken 1 of 3 exit exams. We must make an 80 on the exit exam to pass it. Only 3 people out of our 11 people passed the first one. I am really worried about this test. We take the second exit exam next week. We also have 1 peds test and the final in peds to take within the next 2 weeks. We have 1 clinical left and a culture presentation due also. I can not believe that the end is right around the corner. It seems like I have been in school 4ever. I really hope that I do not mess everything up now. Good luck to everyone and do not give up.:nurse:

STARTING MY INTERNSHIP AT M/B TOMORROW!!!

I am a 22 year old student. I started the program last august 25 and am scheduled to graduate may 12 and my pinning is june 19th.. i have two sons my oldest is 29 months and my youngest is 19months. The program i am in is a very short one so it is extremely fast paced and as you can imagine can be trialsome at times but i fully believe that it is worth it. Soon enough i will be working on nclex and then will have earned the title as a nurse:nurse: yay!!:yeah:

Specializes in Emergency/ Critical Care.

I am 28 and and will graduate on June 3rd:) I finished classes in December and have been working as an RN (temp) at the ER here since January. I have a 9 year old daughter and was an addictions counselor for the past 4 years. I took the 4 year BScN program (only option here). Never thought the end would come but it DID! I wrote my CRNE Feb 4th, 2009 and am currently waiting for the results:)

Specializes in clinical, audits.
I'm in a hospital program. They agree to pay the tuition (not books and uniforms) if you agree to work for them for 2 years. Not too bad of a deal, especially since they also have an RN program with an easy bridge system. :)

Yep.. Supposedly next term (which starts this coming Monday) is when things get really tough and people start dropping like flies. I'm a bit nervous about it. The class that graduated ahead of us started with 30 and only 13 actually made it to graduation...

Right now I'm focusing on getting though my finals this week. Nutrition final is done, and I'm fairly certain I finished with an A in the class. we also had to take the CAP test for nutrition yesterday... That test was interesting, to say the least. It's supposedly like the NCLEX, and if that's true, then I totally understand when people post about not feeling like they know anything afterward. The stuff I knew I really knew but then other questions seemed like they came from outer space... lol.

Do you mind me asking what school and in what area do you attend?

I am 31, mother of two and I started school on Jan 5,2009. We just finished up the first trimester. The second trimester starts May 5th. I will graduate in December. I plan to go to a bridge program for my RN immediately after. I'm so excited about this career that I have chosen for myself. School is tough with two children but it will all pay off in the end! Good luck to everyone.

I'm 28, married with 1 child. I started LPN back in Nov 08 and will graduate this Nov. I'm half way through and can't wait. Once I'm finished I plan on going straight to school for RN (thank god my pre classes are alreedy done) and major in L&D. Not sure what I will do once I finish that goal but it's a start. Good Luck to everyone

Specializes in Addiction, psych.

I started last May, and I graduate on Monday. Tomorrow's my last day. Woo hoo! I can't believe it's finally here. It's been a long, hard, crazy ride. After this I plan on bridging over to my RN and (fingers crossed) working in L&D. Eventually I hope to get my CNM. God willing, of course. :redbeathe Good luck everyone!
