Hi great nurses in the House. I am proud to be called a Nurse because we are in-charge, we save life, in other words i can say we are soul keeper or soul savers but i taught on some questions,
1. Am i so professional that i got lives saved?
2. what happens when lost a responding patient?
3. what happens when the miraculous happens?
I began Thinking on this few questions and at last i got the Answer that great nurses are made by God. And i can boldly say GOD IN THE NURSE IS ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Whats your view on this?
In response to several of the posts on this thread, it's worth remembering that this was posted in the Spirituality forum. Not Nursing News, not General Discussion, not....anywhere else. So while I have some pretty decided ideas on the topic, I'd like to ask that people remember that this IS the appropriate forum for posting such a topic, and for someone seeking such a discussion (regardless of your support or disagreement of it).
Thank you for saying this. I think too many people feel entitled to unload their anti-God feelings on other people, and they really shouldn't be allowed to do so in the spirituality forum.
You posted on nursing and spirituality and it is unfortunate that so many of the responses have been hostile to you and God. Some people feel the need to advertise that they don't need God and even don't believe in Him and become angry at anyone who brings Him up. It is unfortunate and sad! But there are many nurses that do believe in God but have chosen to remain silent so as not to be attacked or ridiculed. Let's respect each others differences and remember these comments are under the nursing and spirituality forum.
I actually read and reply to very few posts in the Nursing and Spirituality section.
This thread grabbed my attention because in was listed under "popular" posts and THE TITLE CONTAINED CAPS which kind of draws your attention to it. Yes, the GOD in the title was perhaps a clue as to which subsection it's posted in, but you don't actually know until you click on the title.
I've read all the posts prior to your reply. Who exactly has felt the need to advertise that they don't need God or believe in him? Where's the hostility against God or OP in the posts predating yours? Stating that one thinks that OP is wrong isn't hostility, it's expressing an opinion.
Respect is a two-way street. I don't know if perhaps you find OP's post more palatable than I do because your personal beliefs may be more in harmony with OP's than mine are?
When OP says that nurses with "God in them" are the best nurses, it follows that s/he's also saying that nurses without this are less than (best). Don't you find that to be an insulting statement? I do.
I asked OP why I am less than, but I haven't received a reply.
Thank you for saying this. I think too many people feel entitled to unload their anti-God feelings on other people, and they really shouldn't be allowed to do so in the spirituality forum.
Spirituality is an incredibly vague word/concept which does not necessary require belief in a god. Everyone is absolutely entitled to their own beliefs. No message board which bans opposing thought is good, as long as thoughts are conveyed in a civil manner.
Ok, I'll bite. I"m taking a comparative religion class, so I'm kind of in the mood.I believe that God helps ME to be a good (insert title here). I also believe that there are other good (insert title here), and that they may or may not be good because of God. I am grateful to have this wonderful thing that I call faith, and I love to share it with anyone who would like me to but I also try not to be preachy or over bearing, because I believe that does more harm than good. I think that many over zealous Christians come off as being "Holier than thou" and I don't think that's in anyone's best interest.
OP, I think what others are trying to say is that as a Christian, you can give God the Glory for the work he has done in YOUR life without making other people feel like you don't think they are as good and capable as you.
I could not have said it better. While the OP believes that their god has given them the gift to be a good nurse, the language being used (I'm not referring to the grammar before anyone starts with that one again) sends the message that they think that only people with the same religious beliefs can be excellent nurses and that's just not true. Our skills are what make us good nurses. How we obtained those skills we can thank who/whatever we want, in the OP's case it's obviously their god.
Thank you for saying this. I think too many people feel entitled to unload their anti-God feelings on other people, and they really shouldn't be allowed to do so in the spirituality forum.
I'm not seeing any "anti-God feelings" on anyone's part. I see an original post in which the author said that s/he believes that believing in God is what makes someone a good nurse and s/he asked what other people think about that. She's getting responses. People disagreeing with her on that point is v. different from "anti-God feelings."
I agree with you. It seems everyone is fine and dotty until someone mentions "God" then they feel great offense!Obviously these nonreligious, atheists SAW "GOD" in the thread BEFORE they clicked on it. It's nice that you come to this conclusion after thoufougly thinking of the possibles, the miracles etc. Glad you're bold to proclaim your faith sir/mam. GOD IN THE NURSE IS ALL THE DIFFERENCE, can't nobody stop you from saying this.
So if we don't agree with the OP we are all now atheists? That's a broad assumption.

In reply to post #38. Is this "God Almighty " the same or a different dude than "The One True God"?
I gotta tell you guys. This Christian version of "god" sounds boring and like a pansy. I prefer Odin. Feasting, fighting, and fu ....... ,er frolicking with girls, in Odin's great hall sounds like a much more satisfying afterlife.
